2015 hasn’t been the best of years. It hasn’t been the worst, either, but it’s year I’ll gladly say good-bye to. It started with Tootie finally getting the word that she had graduated from college (super high note), but that led almost instantly to my former student passing away. Then the crazy weather from snow/ice to shorts and ac, then back to freezing again. Then all the craziness with my extended family, or rather finding out that it had bene going on for almost a year. Getting drug into it so much more than I wanted, dealing with my aunt’s health scare and trying to help and then ending the year with her health better, but my cousin who she lives with, trying to recover from brain surgery (she’s secured a lawyer, by the way - so she might come out of this ok and not drowning even deeper in debt. The lawyer is about the fall at the neighbors’ and subsequent ICU stays and brain surgery, not the insane family members.) School ended on a rough note in May, with me so ready to walk away from my coworker. I recovered in summer (away from her) and then come August, she reminded me why I didn’t want to work with her any more. I did get to spend my week in south Louisiana, in Grand Isle, I love it so much down there. It’s just such a different world down there.
Of course the year also started with this love turning 1. Even with the drama with her mother, this precious thing has my heart.
And of course, there were good-byes this year. The hardest was my Lizzie. I miss my girl.
So, here’s hoping 2016 brings us all much more happiness than sorrow, more laughter than tears, and loved ones to help us get through the bad times. I’ll see y’all next year and I’m so grateful you were all here with me this year. Hugs!!!!
