Beginning To Feel A Lot Like... in Everyday Ramblings

May The Force Be With You. :)
It rained hard all darn day yesterday. Cold splat in your face you don’t want to be out in that rain. A bunch of the tributaries to our two bigger rivers hit flood stage early this morning. And it was white out conditions in the nearby mountains.
I had a mature adult human response to it all and took a warm bath after work and went to bed. We all work too darn hard here, what is wrong with a little hibernation anyway, I ask you.
So far we haven’t lost power in my neighborhood and I am grateful. Brrr.
It would truly behoove me to take a class in gift-wrapping. I am mailing some small gifts this year and so gift bags are not an option. It is the most humiliating thing. I wrap like a four year old! That is why I mail order gifts. Duh.
This morning I was conferenced in to a management level meeting about something I am responsible for, this is management in another department and all the parties involved were men. I was astonished at how emotional it was. Wow.
The place I work is remarkably parochial. Everybody lives in a narrow little world, designed exclusively for them by them and does not want to embrace change but has to.
That is what this is all about; resistance to change and resource limitation.
Now it is quiet. Next week will be short and quiet. Ah. I do envy folks who have a block of time off instead of just the holidays.
I know that I am always encouraging folks to exercise consistently for a short amount of time every day. I need to organize and purge stuff with that same sort of dedication next year. Because of building my yoga business this last year (very rewarding, at least physically and emotionally) I have been ignoring my surroundings and need to get rid of as much stuff as I can that does not serve me.
Besides having my mouth tuned up I am full of hope that 2016 can be a year of actions. One in which I actually have tangible results.
Although it is still work, my weight is stable and most all my clothes fit. I am settling in to being a much smaller person for the rest of my life now. My face is healing from the liquid nitrogen treatments (good thing I was maxed out on my medical copays this year) and my hair looks good.
So I am grateful. How wonderful to have a warm dry place to live and two handsome cats with loads of personality to hibernate with. And really…I work at home! Mostly. That is a pretty sweet deal.
And I have wonderful students.
I will miss my studio students. I like them all. I won’t miss subbing the class though. Three more weeks.
But in the meantime…it is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.
And instead of filling the bird bath every morning, I am emptying it a couple of times a day.
