Trees and Bah Humbug! in blackpropaganda

In one way booking flights for January has settled things a bit. IF they need to be booked I keep putting it off until I think we might find they are booked up - or have become too dear - but because we are going later in January it seems we are out the main period - so the job is done - I can relax. Of course, all that means is I start thinking about what we need to take etc.

All this was forgotten today when we heard some virtuoso violin playing in a wonderful concert - it was a packed audience - and all one can say is it will live in the memory. We went into the city on the train and the sky was bright - and there is nothing better in going through the country than to see winter trees silhouetted against the skyline. You get the overall shape of the trees and also the tracery of the branches -

And here I become Scrooge-like - have you noticed that on chat shows etc when ‘celebrities’ are asked if they think Christmas is a ‘special time’ they wax lyrical about how wonderful they find it. Of course, some are selling a record ( Mariah Carey) - but overall I wish sone of them would just say - ‘I hate it - I am cooped up with my family for too long - we over eat, we over drink - and I know why there is so much domestic violence over the period.’ But they don’t. I feel so sorry for all those people who cannot live up to the ideal thrust at them by the advertisers - and of course of these I hate Coca Cola most.

Everyone knows that Santa wants whisky or sherry - and lots of it - at least he did in our house. CC have a lot to answer for when it comes to Christmas
