Digital Cable. Well over thee-hundred plus television networks with millions of programs and most of them shit.

After writing the following rant on my phone today I’m deciding to stay away from the cable seeing how nine times out of ten I flip channels with nothing in mind to watch. I should start using that time to…do something. What? Clean. Draw. Read.

As if used to be in its heyday Food Network was an entertaining and informative channel. They had the personality of Emril. The wit and nerdish charm of Alton Brown and his food science based show Good Eats. Now, it has adopted the same lowest common denominator based programming that every other network gets away with. Gone is the BAM of Emeril and now is the Triple D and G of Gay Ferrari, I mean Guy Fe…that dude. The same competition cooking shows that swap titles every six months to keep it fresh with the same faceless hipster chefs raising money for a cause or their faceless restaurant, don’t forget the mystery ingredients, the judges, and Alton Brown now reduced to a walking parody of himself.
