Toe Licking in QUOTIDIEN

This is what is going on while I type my morning's entry. The dog insists on doing this while I drink my half-caff. Why? Why, I ask you?!

The temps are down today, with a vague hope that the mercury will actually hit 70 degrees. I'm loving the reprieve from the heat...but what does it mean? Will we pay for it this winter? Maybe Summer is just being delayed due to PERFECT weather?

What's more is that today is the first day of school for our daughter. As her captive audience yesterday, it was my duty to judge a one-girl fashion show. I have yet to visit her room to see if she actually put all the stuff back on hangers or not. She has a go od-size, walk-in closet - and usually her clothes can be found on the floor, a whole 5' away from a plethora of multicolored hangers. But the effort, as I understand it, is far to great for a mere teenager to handle. The time is nigh for her to start doing her own laundry. I'll teach her to separate her colors, set the Paykel to the right settings. Maybe if she is required to take care of her clothes, she will? Then again, I envision stacked laundry baskets in her closet, dripping socks and undies.

Today will be a long day. My patient has a dental appointment - then tomorrow, an appointment with an oral surgeon! Looks like I'll be taking Friday off since she can't afford to pay me for the extra hours. It was with reluctance, however, that she even agreed to Friday off since that's one of her hair-washing days. "But...my hair...."

As much as I love her, and as good a friend as she has been over the years, between the hours of 9:30-12:30, she is my employer, which means I get paid for my time. It is probably the one thing we view differently.

OH OH OH....this old dog is learning a new trick!
I know I'm a day late and a dollar short (see above-j/k), but I am learning The Cup Song (Pitch Perfect). I've about got the cup thing down, but when it comes to adding the song, there's a TZZZZZTZZT sound in my brain. Next thing you know, my voice is tripping over my hands, and cups are flying everywhere!!!
