but your ass won’t care
you’re not Muslim
you’ll even fool yourself into believing
that this actually makes you safer
somehow

then they’ll come for the Hispanics
first “only” the so-called “illegals”
but then eventually all of them
and your ass won’t care
because you’re white
nevermind the fact that you probably
weren’t counted as white one hundred years ago
when your family came up through Ellis
Irish need not apply they wrote on the signs
Italians put to death for imaginary crimes
all manners of Slavic folks dying in factory fires
you’ll even fool yourself into believing
that this will open up jobs for you
somehow

they’ll come for the gays after that
and the crazy and the homeless and the sick
then the people like me
the folks who believe in mixed-market economic models
and trade unionists and democratic socialists
and you’ll fucking love it
you’ll dance in the streets that they got the Commies
you’ll shoot at the trains they take us in
with the little dick-replacement murder-buttons
you think the Second Amendment protects
so you don’t have to deal with your nipple cock

but they never stop coming
