Hope everyone had or is having a nice Thanksgiving. I spent Black Friday at work with 3 grands. Originally it was just going to be the girls but plans changed so Isaiah also joined us much to the big sister’s disappointment. Sorry girls, sometimes things don’t work out as planned and things change. Dudette also spent the night Thurs night after they finished Thanksgiving at her grandma’s home. She and Dude both worked Friday too, and my house is closer to her work right now than her house. She had to be at work at 5 where as I didn’t have to be at work until 7 so she was gone even by the time I got up at 4:30. I woke the kids up at 5:30 and they surprised me by getting right up and getting dressed. Not much conversation all morning which is my kind of morning! I stopped by Burger King to pick us up some breakfast and we ate once we got to my work. Once breakfast was done it was time for the job at hand. Sorting and shredding. Oh. My. Gosh. Not exactly sure how many big bags of shredding I took to the dumpster but it was more than 8 bags. Probably 1/4 of the shredded paper ended up on the floor and what a job that was to get cleaned up. Taking shredded paper out of a shredder is tricky and especially when you fill it a little tight. Borrowed a vacuum from up the hall and even though it looked like snow had fallen in part of the areas, the vacuum did a wonderful job. The vacuum had the turbo thing that didn’t use bags and it was emptied many times during the duration. Those floors have never been cleaner!! I took all of my personal stuff off the walls and where ever else that I had them. All of the awards came down, a wall hanging, most everything. I still have the desk drawers to go through and some coffee cups to pack up but the majority is here now. Not sure what I will do with some of it that I brought home but I’ll do something, even if I throw it away. Probably not, but it is a thought. My office doesn’t even resemble how it looked on Friday morning now. Just goes to show you I’m a collector everywhere I go. 30+ years of files and work counts, documents, notes, note books, etc etc, shredded!! Even though they kids had a few moments of craziness, I could never have gotten that much done by myself. 1 large shredder and 2 small shredders worked almost non-stop until they would get hot. Then a break for the shredders and removing more papers from prongs, or files. I thought I’ll start feeling a little sad toward the end, but nope. Just smiles and more smiles. I did keep some that I thought the new supervisor would find useful but compared to what I had kept, this is just a hint. Course most of our guidance’s can now be found online and she/he won’t have my SYA files cause I’ll get the blame for a year or two for anything they deem to have not been done correctly. I KNOW that as you learn from history.
Met Dudette after we left around 3 and then came home. It had started raining early Friday morning and it rained all day. Steady and sometimes hard. The temperature started falling and by 2:30 it was down to 39 degrees and it was still raining. The concrete slab had the creek over it when I got home, but it was still passable. Thinking I would have had to have turned around if I had been just a few minutes later.
Owen came down for awhile after I got home and he ate leftovers with J and I and then took some of the pie his mom had made for Thanksgiving back up to her and himself for later. I went to bed a little after 8 and work up this morning about 4. I really really need to get a new mattress and box springs. It just seems to overwhelm me when I look at the all the different types and prices out there. I just want a good quality set that doesn’t make me hot or hurt sleeping on it. I think those memory foams would make me hot or maybe not be the quality I want even though they are advertised like they are the best of best in mattress comfort. I just can’t believe that “foam” is that great as a mattress. Course that is just me.
I am keeping my sister’s boy for a few hours today. Her sitter called in sick yesterday so sister had to take off. She called me yesterday to see if I could watch him so she could make up part of her hours today so I said yes. He wants to plan on the WII so will accommodate him. I don’t have anything else planned or “have to get done” so it will be fine.
Did a lot of online shopping last night and this morning. Joann’s was having a fantastic sale so again I bought fabric. I’ll find a place for it. Somewhere. I hope. Made put a shelf in the guest room. May put a table in there too. That table will be used to cut out the fabrics. May move my iron and ironing board in there too. Oh wait. I have an extra ironing board and iron. TaDa!! Another room I’ll clutter. So proud. lol
Raining still. More flooding expected. OyVay.
35 Calendar days left until retirement!!

20 Days until my Open House at work.
