Monday in New Diary

I find it hard to believe that Thanksgiving is a few days away. It seems to be that were just enjoying the nice warm days of summer. Time seems to be going so fast. I keep asking myself where does the time go.

I am doing good this morning. I slept in till about seven, I got up and did dishes from last night, Then I fixed my coffee and had a cigarette .But I will not b e smoking too much longer. I plan on quitting next month. I have a doctor’s appointment on the 4th I hope he can write me a prescription for nicotine patches. Then I will quit.

I really want to quit. I know this one woman in the building who was a heavy smoker. She got cancer. She ended up in a hospital in Pittsburgh and had to go through chemo I do not want to end up on chemo. I do not want to get cancer. I am ready to quit.

I bought a book yesterday. it was The Making of a President 1960 by Theodore White. I remember when it came out in the 60s. I read the book way back then, I will enjoy reading it again. It only cost $2.99

Speaking of books I am almost finished with my book on Winston Churchill The Last Lion I really enjoyed that book. When I get into a good book I hate to stop reading, I read all Sunday afternoon., But then I hate to finish it., Oh well but I will be finished with this one then I’m starting on a Stephen King book of short stories.

Life is good.
