Another week is almost over. Next week is Thanksgiving. Still haven’t heard from brother or his adult kids. I’m figuring they won’t be here for the main meal. I hope they let me know by tomorrow evening.

44 calendar days and 29 work days left before I am officially retired. It is chugging along and will get here before I know it. My job closed and 2 names were on the official “qualified” list. I called both of them and was told today by the boss’ secretary that I shouldn’t have done that. With her record of knowing what she is talking about, I’m ok with calling them.
Now I’m curious to see how long it will take my boss to set up the panel interviews. As I chuckle while writing this, I can see the selection being made just before or at the time of my retirement open house when it finally sinks into his dense head that I’ll be gone soon. If it happens sooner than that, it will be very close in getting the person on board so I can brief them on the responsibilities. The kicker for this new soul will be they will be short 2 bodies and maybe 3 by the 31st of December. If a new person hasn’t arrived yet to replace me, that will be 4 missing. I am so very glad that I am retiring. It is going to be horrid come 3 Jan 16 and the crap will hit the fan when the mail isn’t delivered, nor mailed, etc, etc. The heads up was given in plenty of time to have prevented this but noooo. Praise the Lord I will home in my sweats and sweatshirt with my tennis shoes or house shoes on as I tackle #1 of many projects I have on my mental list. What goes around comes around and I’m smiling way to big just thinking about it. My employees will do what they can that remain, but 2 of 3 will possibly go to higher up as if they are expected to work on mail that is completely out of their job requirements, for very long, they will have valid complaints to file. It will be interesting for sure, but my head will no longer be on the chopping block. LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

J is going to have a sleep study done the night of December 4th. I’m requesting prayers for both of us, as I am afraid he’ll be scared and stressed. He does not sleep well and falls asleep at work so I’m hoping this test will qualify him for a CPAP machine and he actually will use it. I’ve heard several state themselves or their spouse has one and won’t use it.

Dude and Dudette and grands will be here on Saturday afternoon again. My niece’s baby shower is Saturday afternoon and 2 and A thinks she may need me to watch Owen for here for little while on Saturday. She will let me know tomorrow as the Christmas Pageant is Saturday and Owen will be the escort for the Little Miss contestants. And he has 2 away basketball games that morning. Good grief. And she is working and booked until late afternoon on Saturday. I’m so glad my kids are raised, however, I may be taking Owen to his away basketball games. They are early too. 1st game is at 9am and it takes about 45 min to an hour to get there. I’m going to be exhausted by the time this weekend is over.

Dad has an appointment at VA on Monday and a friend of his may take him. If not I’ll take off and take him. Brother took him to the last appointment and it’s still deer season, so tag, I’m it. Dad just called and the friend will take him to his appointment.

Forgot to mention in earlier entries that Dude and Isaiah, Raylee and Makayla got small deer during the youth hunt. Not sure who was more excited; him or the kids.

Going to eat a couple of frozen waffles with Peanut butter and jelly for supper. J is having hamburger helper made with ground turkey. I just didn’t want that for supper.

Take care and God Bless

Snow is in the forecast for tomorrow and/or Saturday. Oh joy. Doubt much but we’ve received enough rain that the roads were closed in some areas and below my house. If it snows like it rained, we’re in trouble.
