Thank goodness we had the long walk yesterday - today has been terrible - rain and hail showers - and the possibility of snow showers tonight - and ice tomorrow morning. Since the wind is coming straight from the Arctic what can you expect?
So the heating has been on all day to keep up a constant warmth - and even then the draughts keep it cool in places in he house.

So tomorrow we will start a fire early on and stay in front of it for much of the day - SW… is the stoker - and have steak and chips with a red wine in the evening - thank goodness we are at home instead of going out.

There was a report on tv this morning that kids who have grown up with the internet very often do not have the skills to work out what is true and what is fiction when they read stuff online. When I was working I was forever telling students to be critical of anything they read anywhere - but especially when they did not know who had produced the stuff and why. They google - and just accept what they read. The short bits of news you get online cannot deal in complexities which means stories are simplistic and easy to digest. No wonder it is easy to spread prejudice.
Apparently it is up to parents to get their kids to be critical and control their use of their access to the internet - oh yeah!

Anyway I seem to have been able to keep the entries going so far this month - although I ignore any prompts - and I am still finding some funnies too. I like this one - for all PBers who know how the difference - and enjoy both
