We had our private gender ultrasound on November 4th, my birthday. We were ordering a gender reveal cake so I asked the lady to write the gender down instead of tell us. She was looking between the baby’s legs for so long! I was silently ecstatic because not for one second did I see anything resembling a penis. I couldn’t believe my luck! With the boys I saw it right away at their gender ultrasounds. I couldn’t be absolutely sure but was feeling good about it. The lady let us listen to the baby’s heartbeat and we saw the baby hugging the placenta. She even gave us one 3D picture even though it wasn’t included in our package.

Saturday morning we went to Mike’s grandmother’s house and I had the gender cake with me which I ordered from a local baker. We skyped my parents in Florida so they could watch and Mike’s mom was there too and I finally cut into the cake and found out it’s a GIRL!!! I couldn’t believe it! I am on cloud 9. I felt like for sure I would have another boy since I know women with 2, 3 and 4 boys with no girls. I’m soooooo excited!!! Mike had no preference and thinks it will be interesting to have a girl to see the difference. Cody really wanted a girl too which surprised me lol.

Yesterday I bought my first baby clothes for our little girl. Just a couple of onesies. I have a whole wardrobe to build. My mom and MIL are eager to buy a bunch of stuff too and I am soon going to go through the boys clothes and pull out the gender neutral stuff.

I also have bad news though… I found out that our contract isn’t going to be renewed so I am officially laid off on November 19th. After that I will get severance pay. Then maternity leave. I have to find out the earliest I can start maternity leave pay. 32 weeks I think. I am 17 weeks today and feeling great these days with just a big appetite and no sickness!
