Little grey lie and needy kids in blackpropaganda

Been very careful today since it is Friday 13th - and so far so good!

Went to an art exhibition opening last night (Thursday) - only to find have driven for 15 miles that it had been on Wednesday evening. I did not read the invitation properly. SW… was out somewhere else, and would not be back until at least 8 pm so I drove as fast as possible back home - parked the car - she was not back - surprised her by being home when she got back - and explained I never went because I had read the invitation before going and saw I had been wrong about the day. Not being a detective she did not find the car engine was warm - and was pleased I did not drive 30 miles on a wild goose chase. Ah, just those little grey lies to keep you from being laughed at - or shouted at.

Winter has arrived with Storm Abigail and more rain for the next two days - and bought two sweaters today in preparation for the hardest winter since time began - if you believe the Daily Mail. SW.. bought a new winter coat so she is happy.

And for the first time since 1980, when it started. Sir Terry Wogan is unable to host Children in Need - the Sir is honorary since he is Irish, but has become a national treasure. It seems he has a bad back - but at 77 I would have thought it was a good idea to take it easy. Now the question - does he wear a wig?

I shall miss it because I am out, and some relief since it tends to be too over the top for me - and I have made my contribution by text already. It is a great charity - and does good work in the UK and around the world.
