Who's blowing the horn? in Day to Day

I’ve been digging. I loath this time of year for all sorts of reasons. Currently I loath it because I have to dig. Our allotment is covered in weeds and things that need pulling up and cutting back. It’s not all bad. We harvested 3 good sized pumpkins yesterday. The raspberry canes are still producing fruit, and we even cut a few more sweetcorn yesterday. I think we did pretty well this year overall. Our plot is not the tidiest, but I reckon we produced as much as anyone else.

Today (Monday) I am going home at lunchtime. This is because the dragon is going on a school trip to Stone Henge and won’t be there to pick up the boy from school. I don’t really like working from home. But come to think of it, I don’t really like working at the office either. I think it’s just the work thing I find problematic.

Continued Tuesday…

Walking Dead is back. Was anyone else confused by the moody black and white parts? It took me ages to work out they were flash-backs. You can put things in chronological order by counting the number of plasters on Rick’s face if you’re confused. They decrease as the episode advances. Who’s blowing the horn?

It’s parents’ evening at school on Thursday. I’m going to try and bail early from work. It’s much easier to bail early on a Friday because everyone else does. One tens to get lost in the crowd. The boy has auditioned for the part of Scrooge in the school Christmas play. He very badly wants to be Ebenezer. I hope he gets it.

Talking of Friday, we have a “wear pink for breast cancer” day on 23rd Oct. This is going to mess up my OCD. I do have a pink shirt, but I only wear it on Thursday because we operate a “camp Thursday” policy at my office. I can’t wear my pink shirt both Thursday and Friday in any case. I may have to buy pink socks for Friday. It was also going to be coffee and bacon sandwiches day. However, since it coincides with a German colleague’s 20th year with the company (I know, 20 years!) it has become beer and bratwurst day. In any case, I forecast a messy lunch and a non-productive afternoon.

Wednesday, and I still didn’t publish last night…

I just finished reading the Martian. I now feel I can watch the film. I was told by an astrophysicist I know that it was a good book. It’s not written well, but it is good.

Oh the boy got the part of Jacob Marley in the school play. I think they decided the part of Scrooge was too big for a 9-year-old, and they are re-writing it. He could have done it. Which somehow reminds me, I’m going to have to shout at his music school. They haven’t given him a guitar lesson for about a month now and I’m sure I’ve paid them.

I have ordered this hat from Victor and Liberty. I had another like it, but I left it on the train because I am an idiot.
