imperviousness in poetry

Just because a wound healed
doesn’t mean you won’t have
a pink glossy stretched-out
scar that aches in wet-cold
for the rest of your life.
You can bounce back but
that means you can fall.
It works both ways that’s
how it works for us all.
You’re not impervious
you’re gonna get hurt by this
even when you leave the dark
the night’s gonna leave a mark
recuperation can get you far
but it’s gonna leave a scar.
