4 our of 4 in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

I seem to be on a roll with writing. Has the writing month done it? Maybe.

So today I took off to take Dad to the ENT appointment. The appointment was at 1230 and he wanted to leave at 9. I tried to convince him we didn’t need to leave that early but after the 3rd time, I gave up and told him I would come and get him at 9. We were at the Dr’s office by 11:10am. Still he is convinced they will take him before others. NOT! Finally at 12:45 they called his name. Whew!! We were out of the office by 1:30, eating lunch in the same town by 2 and I arrived back home by 4:00pm. I am tired. So other side trips other than McD’s for lunch.

Temptation was present as there was a JoAnn’s Fabric store right across the highway from McD’s. Dad said it would be fine if I wanted to go there and look or shop but I refrained and said, let’s go home. Not sure how much money I saved, but I did save money! lol

Going to take J to the Dr on Friday afternoon. He can’t stay awake at work and his production has dropped. Going to get blood work and any other tests they suggest. He really needs a sleep apnea test. Maybe another breathing test too. Prayers please as J’s weight has to be dangerous too. I am lousy at getting him to understand about not over eating and drinking (soda). They try to keep him from buying too many sodas at work and one or 2 a day probably wouldn’t be so bad, however, he has been known to buy 3 or 4 a day and 2 pks of 2 cookies or more at work. I try to check his lunch box, however, he is very sly about keeping things from my sight. I limit the sweets in the house and the soda. I am still failing and I’m afraid it is affecting his health and well being. Prayers and good thoughts are appreciated.

So good of you to be patient about that long day; we had those with my dad, too. And, G. It's so hard to make those changes but they can be accomplished. Wonder if he knows all the negatives? I am trying to figure out how to get my son (50) to go to the skin doctor..he has red spots on his forehead and top of the scalp. I have mentioned it in passing and it was yeah, Mom...I know. But there they are, time after time.. Skin cancer here is too prevalent to skip over those sun spots.
