For whatever reason I wanted some cooked cabbage today. Haven’t had any for a very long time but I went to the store this afternoon and picked up a package of porksteak and knew right then what I was fixing for supper. Now J does not eat nor like the smell of cooked cabbage but truthfully I don’t like the smell at the beginning of the cooking stage either. I seared the porksteak on top of the stove then popped them and some split potatoes in the oven. I had added 2 potatoes to the cooking cabbage and I may pay for the cabbage intake later this evening but I hope not. Sometimes it hurts me and sometimes it doesn’t. I’m hoping this is a doesn’t night.
Had a new great nephew born yesterday AM. This couple did not want to find out if it was a boy or girl before he was born so I had made some non-pink or blue things but hadn’t mailed them yet. I whipped up a pure boy receiving blanket this morning and a bib. The fabric has sports balls and logos on it. Kinda busy fabric but since the new daddy is a sports medic it will be perfect.
This afternoon I went to a yardsale and bought some fabric. The lady is cleaning out a home she purchased and the previous owner was a sewer. She is wanting rid of the stuff so I stuffed 3 bags at 50 cents each bag and the last load of fabric is in the dryer. Oh no, wait there is one more large white piece that I have to wash and dry and then it will be done. *sigh
Small pieces, large pieces, various materials, patterns and colors. Did get about 3 pieces of 2 yds or more so I’m ready for more sewing. hehheh
Who knew I’d post an entry so close to the previous one. Kinda surprised myself too. This morning was cold inside and out and finally turned the heat up a little. By the time I got back from the yard sale and grocery store the house felt too warm. I turned the heat off and opened a window. I seem to be either hot or cold and never “just right”. I already know I’m going to cold this winter but I have a couple of heaters that I’ll use if I need to. Hate to keep the heat up for the entire house just cause I’m chilly so will probably use the heater in whatever room I’m working in at the time.
Dude started my generator last weekend so it is ready in case I need it this winter. I really hope I do NOT need it, but we never know what kind of winter we’re going to get here. Even the predictions are iffy. They can’t tell either. Either way, I have extra food, the generator to keep the little heaters going and various other appliances.
Saw my sister today and have some hemming to do for Jack some pants. I fixed a hem in her pants, put a couple buttons on her hubby’s shirt and got the pants for Jack ready to hem. I should get off here and get it done so it can be done and not a “to do”.
Good day today after it warmed up. Beautiful as a matter of fact.
76 calendar days and 51 work days left. Wheee!!
