Tens... in These titles mean nothing.

Ten things lbh and I didn’t do (or didn’t do enough of)

1. We didn’t make it to Yellow River Forest - 7000 acres of state forest which was my family’s picnic grounds. I never go there any more and I’d like to.

2. We didn’t get a Gus & Tony’s pizza. It’s either a Gus & Tony’s pizza or a Casey’s pizza and we got a Casey’s. We got a Pizza Hut pizza too but that was because we were in Prairie at pizza time.

3. We didn’t get to the Steel Cow where the cow painter presides.

4. We didn’t look at corn enough or hay or beans.

5. We didn’t go to Festina to look at the smallest church in the world which was built in thanksgiving by the mother of one of Napoleon’s draft dodgers.

6. Or the Bily Clocks at Spillville which is what you do the same day you go to the smallest church in the world at Festina.

7. On the grand church tour we did not go inside St. Joseph the
   Workman in LaCrosse or the local churches of interest either.

8. Oh and we skipped cemeteries entirely. Lot of good cemeteries around here.

9. Oh and I forgot to show her Brickpaver’s fire hydrant nativity scene Christmas card. It’s on the wall with my other Christmas cards but I didn’t call her attention to it specifically.

10. The Antique Mall in Marquette. It’s in the old school, an interesting building.

Ten good things that happened last week

1. Shannon told me ‘awesome job’. She doesn’t say that unless she means it.

2. Weather was glorious. Even if I did have ice on the windshield three days in a row, the plants on the deck are still alive.

3. I FINALLY finished An American Tragedy.

4. Jim started and finished combining beans for neighbor #1. No problems, so please cross all your fingers and toes that good luck continues.

5. I managed not to say yes to anything political.

6. So far no raccoons in the silage bag.

7. John is coming down next week - with Hans no doubt.

8. Lots of eagles soaring in the blue sky.

9. I gave some money to wee sprites suicide prevention walk.

10. I have no clothes on the line…though it’s time to wash some more.

Ten less good things:

1. Call from library that books and tapes are overdue. I plan to take them in when I finish here.

2. The cat guy came to look at the creek and he suggested we seek matching funds.

3. The coffee pot is not working well. Needs to have vinegar run through it or needs to be taken apart and cleaned out or needs to be replaced. I am ignoring the situation. Hasn’t helped.

4. I need to buy groceries.

5. And two D batteries for the grain moisture tester.

6. I need to get moving. So I guess six is as many as I can think of.
