The kids had their first day of school yesterday. Kayla and Timmy are in eighth grade and Aaron is in fifth grade. My babies are growing up. Their school is kindergarten through eighth grade, so they all go to the same school. There is an elementary school part and a middle school part. I waited with them at the bus stop. There was another eighth grader who also had his parents there. I was worried the twins would think they were too old to have a parent wait with them but I guess not.

The first day seems to have gone fairly well. This is Timmy and Kayla’s second year of middle school. They were used to having lockers and knew where some of their classrooms were. Aaron had a desk and cubby hole assigned to him. He has a place in the desk for his supplies. The twins are making book covers for their books. I remember doing this when I was in middle school. Every student in the middle school gets an electronic device. I’m not sure exactly what they will be getting. The kids will receive their devices next week.

They had a little bit of homework last night but not too much. The twins have a list of the subjects they will be covering in each class. Aaron has a list of the projects he will be doing. The kids brought their lunches. We have a menu and they can decide when they want to get school lunch. At the middle school there is one lunch for the seventh graders and one for the eighth graders. Aaron eats lunch with his class.

My mom is doing okay. She has gotten stronger with the physical therapy she is getting. The thing is she really, really wants to go home from the nursing home where she is living. She will have been there three weeks tonight. I think they are still assessing her right now to find out what she will need in terms of long term care.
