I've decided I won't post every day - just the days I take pictures and have something to document. The worst part about these 'write every day' themes is sometimes instead of adding inspiration to our lives, they drain out our will to live. Or for anyone to want to read us. :)

That being said, I give you my bedside table. Actually, the trimmed down bedside table after I got through a few more books that were stacked on top. I am a voracious reader and after taking a few years off, becoming addicted to Twitter and losing the focus for non-screen reading, I dove back in a few months ago and haven't looked back. My spirit is better for it, my sleep schedule is better for it and I find I drive home after long days at the hospital just fantasizing about curling up with a good book and losing myself for an hour or two. It's not mindless entertainment like TV watching is (which absolutely has its place!) but it actually engages my mind, fills it up with adventures and stories and takes me places and introduces me to people I would never know or understand or meet otherwise. I am thrilled a group of friends and I started a book club last year as it has broadened my book selection, 'forced' me to read things I would have quickly skimmed and forgotten if I were the only one choosing. I've also discovered GoodReads.com (and their iPhone app) and went back and documented all of my (overflowing) bookshelf of books onto it. It's a great place to find people who share your reading style, favorite authors and swap reviews of books you loved or hated. On these cold Wisconsin nights, not much better than a bedside table that looks like this and many frosty months ahead to dive into every single one of them. :)
