Cody had his first day of Junior Kindergarten on Friday. It was a full day and the teacher said I should probably drive him myself the first day (because in the future he will take the bus). I knew he was nervous but thought he’d be ok. Nope lol. I walked him to the front yard where all the kindergarten kids play and hugged him goodbye and he burst into tears and kept saying, “Mommy mommy!” He didn’t want me to leave. I gave him an extra hug and told him he was going to have a great day but in the end I had to leave him crying with the teacher on yard duty. I felt terrible. I didn’t want to leave him like that but what could I do? So anyway, my parents were in town so they came over and spent the day with me and Miles. We just talked and bummed around the house since it was a chilly day.

When it got closer to the time to pick Cody up from school, I was dying to go get him lol. I just wanted to make sure he was okay and didn’t spend the day crying. My mom and I drove to the school a little early to get him and luckily we already saw kids and teachers waiting at the front door so we went to get him. His teacher was super sweet too. She told me he cried for about 10 minutes in the morning and then played and had a great time for the rest of the day. She just said he was really quiet, which I expected since he didn’t know anyone. I was so relieved, especially when he told me he had fun and would like to go back again. My mom and I had the toughest time trying to get out of him what they did all day. He said, “I dunno” when we asked him lol. Eventually we managed to find out that he played with dump trucks, help cleaned up, rolled balls on the floor and went pee in the toilet at one point lol. Really detailed eh? Lol. He said sadly, “I didn’t make a friend” and I told him he will in time and it might help if he talked to other kids lol.

Today Cody took the bus near our house for the first time. He was all excited to ride the bus just like Caillou but when he got on and turned around to look at us he burst into tears. My poor boy. He said he was going to miss me. I’m sure he cheered up once he got to class. Definitely an adjustment for him.

On the plus side, I haven’t been feeling too sick this week, just extra tired, extra hungry and stabbing pains in my boobs now and then. Those are a treat lol. I’m eating double portions at some meals too. I can’t believe my stomach isn’t huge already. 9 weeks today! I am going to try to find the baby’s heartbeat with my home doppler today, although with a baby the size of a grape it could be hard to find.
