First thing I want to do is thank everybody for the notes of condolence left on my last entry. There really are good people hanging around this small space on the interwebs.

A phone call from my sis-in-law led to the decision that I needed to go stay with Mom. A least for a little while.

So on Thursday evening I was at the airport where I met my brother and sis-in-law as they stepped off the plane I was getting ready to board. We had a few minutes to talk. I was given some ideas of things I needed to try to get sorted out with Mom.

The plane took off at 9:15pm and landed at 9:50pm. Not bad for a two and a half hour flight. I love time travel.

Mom and my cousin Terry and his wife met me outside and a quick ride followed to the park.

The RV park is still as deserted as when I left back at the end of May.

As luck would have it today was the first seventy degree day back home in a very long time. And here it was 102 degrees.

My brother and his wife were here for a week and they were able to get some projects completed. Mom now has a new stainless steel sink in her kitchen.

My daily routine is now shot to hell. No more sleeping in until whenever I feel like getting up. Now 6am comes early and I really don’t like it. And the TV! Don’t get me started on that.

Now I think the most useful thing will be to go to the pool at 6am before it gets hot. Maybe snooze a bit stretched out on a lounge chair.

I have no idea how long I’ll need to stay here. I missed two months of Spring in the Ozark’s and now it looks like I’ll miss two months of Fall. Oh well, it is what it is.

One thing I’m supposed to do is try to get a handle on Mom’s finances. There is a meeting with the trust fund lawyer coming up. I should find out more during that meeting. Mom is convinced everything is under control. And it is, but could be better and simpler.

I kind of feel sorry for Liam Dog. He was really used to coming upstairs and crawling under the covers in my bed after everybody left to go to work at 5am. Poor guy. And it was just beginning to get cool enough for our long walks.

I don’t really think Mom needs me here but I’ll let her decide that. I’m homeless so I might as well be here as somewhere else.

Ah, life. What can you do?
