.. a lot.
Let’s work our way backwards.
Last we used the leftover paint to ‘fix’ a couple old paintings I had made with leftover paint. It turns out I am incapable of throwing out paint.
lbh worked on one side and I on the other.
Acrylic on a 24” x 24” inch thick plywood salvaged from a factory that shut down some years ago.
Also to use up ink we finished another partially painted piece of plywood.
Some of you might have seen this one before. I plan to thicken up the trunk next time I have black paint out.
It can be noted that these are craft paints from Walmart. I bought six colors, a big jar of gesso (from the UK), a large assortment of brushes and a plastic combination palette/deviled egg dish from Walmart years ago for about $17.
I used them to paint:
- my first round of plywood art - half a dozen or so boards.
- a post-Easter dinner family round of everybody paint something - again on the plywood boards.
- Tick Tock Tick and my set of plastic fish for fish days.
- and today’s art extravaganza.
And have enough left for a couple more projects.
First - today’s model - the New Guinea impatiens that’s been summering on the deck.
Then our efforts - in various stages of completion -
After the last picture was taken I was persuaded to put a gleam on the right side of my black pot. I think it may have helped but I’m too lazy to take another picture.
Here is my artistic progression -
First pic - I put lines from a Frost poem in the tree branches.
Second pic - I wished the gray lines were lighter.
Third pic -
Fourth pic - I wanted to put a quote, poem verse, whatever in the empty space in the middle but could not decide what to write or how to put it there.
Above pics are from my first round of art five or so years ago. lbh wanted me to post them because she thinks I’ve improved. What do you think?
Just to jog your memory here is recent art.
First the art class pic which to a fairly great degree was follow the leader - though I must admit neither lbh or I were very good followers.
And today’s effort - please imagine the gleam in the black pot a bit right of center.
Tomorrow is our last full day, though there will be quite a bit of Sunday too. It’s sad to send lbh home. We have had a really nice time. I have a feeling though that she is missed at home.
