I'm off the boat in What's up

This will be quick. I am up at 5:00, to deliver training at 7:30, then must gather and send tax stuff to my very patient account (who has also been a friend for over 20 years) in time for him to file my 2014 corporate taxes by my extension date. Did I tell you my previous accountant died? Well, he did, but first he lost his mind. Things got dicey in 2010 as he was trying to hide his advancing dementia. I didn’t notice, as I was used to him taking care of things, then in 2012 I got a bit distracted.
Anyway, an old bestie from Phoenix had long since obtained an accounting degree and founded a pretty successful firm in St. Pete. I appealed to our long friendship, and he took pity on me. He’s a genius and so patient. I luvs him.
So I’m off the boat, and still swimming (figuratively.) I have to write more of that down, but the upshot is we only lost MIL once. She really is past the stage to be outside familiar surroundings. FIL left her in the room and she went looking for him and ended up in the sick bay because her blood sugar bottomed out! Almost the worst case scenario. Luckily, they have a lot of crew and a lot of experience dealing with old people. Can’t wait until FIL gets that bill, though.
Oh, and in an unrelated incident, FIL not only called a member of the crew a “stupid asshole” for doing her job, but bragged about it the rest of the trip. That tells you all you need to know about him.
Jamaica is like Tijuana if you get off the resorts and the beaches, but the people seem happier. It’s probably the ganja. The other ports where HOT, but at least I got to practice my Spanish in Cozumel. The water was spectacular, but I can go the rest of my life without stepping on another cruise ship. Direct flights into Grand Cayman will be just fine.
I will write more about the good parts, the meltdowns, and the horrible four-day anniversary that fell in the middle of this debacle, but it will have to wait.
Must make money now.
