A semi lazy Saturday but yet a little productive. Normal early rise for both weekend days. It’s okay as I usually can get more accomplished in the early part of the day. I did get all my laundry done, cleaned up the kitchen went through some mail and then worked off and on on another scrap section for a in the future scrap quilt. I actually seem to be running out of scraps or maybe scraps I want to use. Going to make sure I haven’t left out a stash maybe somewhere I have forgotten I’ve got. Most of my scraps are kept in ziplock bags of various sizes so I can see what is in them. However, before I started using the plastic bags I would put them in whatever I had available such as shoe boxes or just empty boxes. Will dig in the closet and see if I missed some. I seriously think I did. As long as I’ve been sewing I would think I have more. I believe I finished the 12th block yesterday but of course they will all eventually will need to be squared up. I plan on them all being 16” squares when done and then when I have enough I will begin the quilt as you go portion. I will use either a solid color for the backing or a solid and print. Want it to look good enough to use on both sides and not be funky. This is a on-going project with no deadline unless I set one in my head.

Bought fabric off the clearance at Walmart this week and was totally surprised at the quality of the fabric. YaY!! Love decent quality at a sale price!! Ended up stopping again on Friday after work and bought some jersey fabric. I’m going to attempt a couple of skirts for the granddaughters and if enough is left, a long nightshirt or lounge dress with sleeves for me. It is so soft so I expect it to be comfortable and a change from the usual flannel I wear in the winter.

Yesterday afternoon I picked up Owen for him to stay with me while his mom went to her “new friend’s” mom’s house for a cookout. She is taking is super slow and I’m so glad she’s out of the “I need a man” phase. The friend is okay with this slow pace and for that he has a point or two from her momma. Went by dude’s to read the paperwork about the COBRA stuff and sure enough plain as day, the cost for continued coverage is well over $1700 AND he has to pay almost $1000 back for time before the 3d of August. He has 60 days to send in the money, so since he has an appointment with the surgeon for a check up on the 17th, we’re going to wait to see if he tells Dude when he can return to work. IF Dude is healing properly and there are no reasons to not return, he may be able to return by the 1st of September. If he does then that will change the coverage again. Waiting in this situation may be a blessing since he has 60 days to send any money.

Going to go to church today. Stayed home with Dude last Sunday. Will probably mow this afternoon and might use the rider again as it has the mulch blades. May use the 0 turn so will decide when the time comes.

Took a lapse from writing and got a couple of things done to include getting ready to leave for church. Have a wonderful Sunday and God Bless
