Prayers answered in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

Friday the 21st of August and our temps are in the 50s this morning. A bit cool the last couple of days with rain possible. This summer has been different with more rain than normal for July and now August. Can’t remember too many August days in the past with temps in the 50s and 60s either. Read a snow prediction for the winter and it predicts this winter is going to be a doozy for snow. *sigh Take in in stride like all the other winters.

What a week!! Dude went back to his doctor on Monday and was released to go back to work on Tuesday. He and Dudette were surprised (me too) and happy for his release to go back to work this soon. With that release the Cobra changes and the main office is still working on what he actually owes but no lump sums are expected now. The company is going to take out each week a specific amount so he can pay back what is owed so at this time no huge crazy amounts are required. Praise the Lord. I was concerned but God took care of the details.

Tuesday I got official word that the positions I’ve been trying for 6 1/2 years to get upgraded was approved. Another Praise the Lord!!!! Now if the secretary can get the 2 employees coded in correctly so they don’t have to compete for their own jobs. Wednesday she was waiting on word from the Human Resources folks on exactly how to put it in the system. Next will be getting approval to hire behind the employee who left in July. It had been approved to hire behind him, but at the lower grade so it has to be resubmitted at the new approved grade. Things are clicking away to make my stint complete. My work bucket list, if you will.

Thursday woke up not feeling good at all so I stayed home. Piddled around the house and took some meds and took a short nap in the afternoon. I still have a headache and feel a bit blah but going to work. Actually it should be a decent day as the boss is off today and that is always a good day. ;) Kinda like my employees had yesterday. ;)

With Dude’s return to work they need a sitter for the kids tomorrow. They will come tonight or I’ll go get them and they will spend the night tonight and be here until one or the other parent gets off work. I suspect it will be Dudette that gets off 1st. I have some things planned to keep them busy or entertained tomorrow and one of them has to do with an upcoming event at work next month.

My sections turn to host the hail and farewell at work next month and the ladies want to do a carnival theme and want me to be a fortune teller. Sooooo, I’ve been getting stuff together to do just that and that research resulted in the paper fortune teller game that some of us remember from our younger days. You fold a piece of paper after squaring it up several times, write numbers, colors and then a “fortune” on the inside. I was told I was supposed to use fortune cookies, but I think using a childhood memory will make it fun for the employees too. Anyway I’m going to teach the grands how to make a fortune teller game.

Since my computer clock says it is 5:50am I need to end this and get ready for work. I hope and pray that all of you have a wonderful weekend. God Bless!!
