Survey in The View from the Terrace

I liked this survey so I decided to do it -

A. What are your favorite smells?
You may think I am mad but I love the smell of steam engines; I guess it takes me back to my childhood. Apart from that it would be flowers, especially the scent of the lilac on a spring day in my garden.

B. Can you go a whole day without caffeine?
I’ve never tried but I doubt it; I’m not quite myself until I’ve had my first cup of coffee in the morning.

C. Who knows more about you than anyone else?
My husband and children.

D. What song did you last listen to?
John Denver Eagles and Horses, someone on You Tube has added it to the soundtrack of the film Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron and it’s amazing.

E. Do you have a crush on anybody?
I am rather past that now, but I would really fancy Lee Mead if I were 30 years younger!

F. Do you like The Beatles?
I never really went for their sound but I do love a lot of their songs. Let it Be is one of my favourite songs of all time.

G. If you could choose one color to wear for a whole year, what color would you choose?
Purple.

H. Do you cook often?
I don’t really enjoy cooking. Hubby cooks here. If he isn’t here or I am away I live on quiches and salad. I did used to love doing childrens parties, making little cakes and lots of fancy things.

I. What was the last film you watched? Did you like it?
At the cinema it was Les Miserables which was incredible.
On TV I watched Mamma Mia yet again last week, that must be the seventh or eighth time, I love ABBA

J. Can you sew?
Well I can do basic stuff like mending or sewing on buttons or darning. It bores me. I used to love tapestry, still do it now and then.

K. What is your favorite fruit?
Strawberries.

L. Are you health conscious?
I try to be. I eat organic food as far as possible and I do yoga.

M. Go do the Kinsey scale test, what number result did you receive?
I’d never heard of this but I looked it up and I’m no 1

N. Do you curse a lot?
I do use the B words, bloody and bugger if something upsets me or I stub a toe or break something. Almost never use the F word. I think it’s an age thing, my boys use the F word all the time but never the B ones.

O. When was the last time you had a pint of beer?
I can’t touch alcohol now as it triggers my migraine. I never really liked beer, I used to drink Babycham or rum and coke in the 70s.

P. Are you pro life or pro choice?
Basically I’m pro life but I don’t judge others. One thing that does puzzle me is why it’s OK to abort a fetus that is probably healthy but wrong not to save a newborn that is severely damged.

Q. Is there a certain food you often crave for no reason?
Chocolate!

R. What was the last book you purchased?
Jodi Picout Sing you Home and Torey Hayden Just Another Kid. Found them both in a charity shop haven’t read them yet.

S. Where was your last vacation?
Amsterdam in early May and hopefully my next will be Cornwall in September.

T. Do you shave your pits?
I have never shaved. I used to use a depilatory cream but as I got older there is almost no hair there any more, it’s all on my upper lip now!

U. Did you ever play seven minutes in heaven?
Never heard of this. I just looked it up and the anwer is no.

V. Girls, when was the last time you went out without a bra?
I must admit I never wear one at home or in the garden, I hate them. I do wear one when I go out. Once in the 60s I went to work without one and got reprimanded!

W. Guys, when was the last time you went shirtless in public?

X. Have you ever broken a bone? If so, how did it happen?
No.

Y. How do you like your eggs?
I don’t eat eggs very often. My daughter is vegan and trying to make me one. I haven’t eaten meat for at least 25 years. I’ve more or less given up fish and eggs because of her but I still love my milk and cheese. I do eat eggs in things like cakes though.

Z. What was your last argument about and who with?
My husband, I hardly ever argue with anyone else!
