I'm not dead in Day to Day

I haven’t written here in ages. At the end of August I took some time off work and when I got back I got ridiculously busy at work trying to catch up after taking a week off. I write nearly all my entries at work. I don’t seem to have any free time at home either. I’m looking forward to retirement.

Anyway, we didn’t go away anywhere this summer due to various family commitments and so the week off was to make up for that. The boy and the dragon both love camping, so we went camping for one night in a woodland camp site in Berkshire. It was a bit different because most camp sites are grass fields. This one is in the trees. On the downside, it’s damn near impossible to get tent pegs in. I tied one guy rope to the car wing mirror.

It also peed down with rain, but we have the best tent in the world. It didn’t let in any water at all.

That is the tent drying out in the garden. I don’t have any pictures of it in the woods. I need a bigger garden.

We also drove up to the Midlands to visit Cadbury World. The dragon has been wanting to do this for quite some time, but I never liked the idea of driving to Birmingham. However, it turned out to be a very easy journey and quite a fun day out. There was also free chocolate samples.

My Hudl Android tablet died. I use it quite a bit. It was still under guarantee, so it’s been replaced, but it caused a problem because it completely died and I couldn’t wipe my personal data from it. I had to change about a million passwords in case anyone brings it back to life.

The boy has gone back to school. He’s in year 5 now. How the hell did that happen?

We’re intending to buy a cheap second hand piano. We’re going to look at one at the weekend.I think the dragon is thinking of starting a family band. She plays a little piano. The boy is getting pretty good on his guitar now. I’m sure I’ll be given a triangle or something.

The boy is going for his black belt in Martial Arts. It involves a lot of work and he has to run 3 miles. This is significant because he has to train for it, and that basically means I have to run too. I used to run cross country at school, but now I only run to the pie shop. So, this is going to be an adventure for all of us! I suppose 3 miles isn’t far. He has to do it in 30 minutes I think.

Voting closes today for labour party leadership elections. We should have results by the weekend. I can’t wait. It’s been the best sitcom I can remember. We’ll have a Marxist opposition by next week.
