The weekend was much needed, as well as the cheap beer. Sunday night found me at the supermarket picking up a few things for the week. I get into the shortest line and if front of me are a young-ish couple. The woman is pretty good looking, kinda trashy but cleaned up could be gorgeous. She’s also preggers. The guy is a bum. Looks like he hasn’t shaved in a few days, wearing sweat pants that really don’t fit all that well and a one of those flat brimmed baseball caps that’s just a little off-kilter. He’s got that unwarranted sense of entitlement attitude about him. My first thought was about how this guys has already ruined 3 lives, his life, that stupid girl he’s impregnated and the poor defenseless child they will be raising. Then I thought well maybe he’s not so bad, he might be an ok guy. I don’t really know him, I probably shouldn’t make judgments about him based solely on the fact that he looks like a complete asshole. Don’t think that much more about it and I’m on my way outta the store and I see them walking to their car, the plastic bag that the guy is carrying breaks. It was like dominos, he loses it, comes completely unhinged starts slamming the groceries into the trunk of the car, she’s yelling at him to stop slamming shit. Swears flying all over the place, volume all the way up, it was beautiful, in a disturbing sort of way. She ended up storming off walking across the parking lot and down the street, talking with someone on her cell (probably for a ride) and smoking a cigarette, all positive choices for a mom to be. He drove off, leaving her to apparently find her own ride home or wherever. Classy! I’m not sure why I enjoyed watching this saga unfold so much. Just some advice to the ladies out there, if you are currently dating a guy who wears a flat brim ball cap, walk away now. Nothing good will come from this. No exceptions, I don’t want to hear it. Guys, there is no excuse for wearing one.
