a long day but fruitful in keeping it postive

MANY years ago, I started a medical study about diabetes. It was a double blind study and since a short time in I got diabetes, I assume I’d been getting the placebo.
The study continues and I went yesterday morning for the annual visit - left bodily fluids, answered some questionnaires. Had to go fasting, so was glad to get my snack. (And glad to go first thing in the a.m. - 7:45) Since I am giving my time, along with the free medical tests, I get an “honorarium” - this time $150 in AmEx gift cards - nice!!
I passed by Whole Foods and stopped it. I never knew they had breakfast as one of the “salad bar” tables. I bought two small egg/cheese souffles (very filling) and a 1/4 piece of waffle. Perfect.
I had to be at work at 1:30, so didn’t want to go back home (as where I was was 1/2way there). I went to the Lincoln Center atrium: a beautiful site with tables and chairs, fountain and wi-fi. I couldn’t get my tablet to hook into the wi-fi, but so what. It’s still a lovely place.
I had time still, so went to the Indian buffet - the GOOD one. Aside from Chicken Tikki Masala (which I love), most of the dishes were new to me. Some I liked a lot, one NOT at all, one was okay, but I didn’t want seconds.
Then, on to work. I am glad I left enough time since there were train delays. I got there JUST on time. There was nothing for me to do, so I kept reading through the magazines I’d brought - read a total of 5 1/2 magazines. I save various articles - some I send to pen pals, others I keep. I just rip out the pages I don’t want to save. By the end of the day, my load is a LOT lighter. I had something to give my supervisor, so again, lightening the load. I get paid even if I have no actual work to do. They pay me for my time - $100.
All in all - a GOOD day. I went to bed as soon as I got home!
