We went into the city yesterday. Neither of us are very good at getting out early so we go on Thurdays which is late night opening. We had a late lunch at a lovely little vegetarian restaurent in one of the Victorian arcades and then, after a browse around some of the arcade shops, spent about an hour in Urban Outfitters. Cat needed some new tops because she has lost some weight and a lot of her stuff is too big now. I was exhausted as I had a migraine in the night and was still feeling the affects of the meds. Thankfully there was a comfortable seating area by the fitting rooms where partners and mothers could sit while she tried on endless things. Then we went across the road to Starbucks for a much needed coffee.

Re energised we went to Top Shop where we spent another hour. Here there was no designated seating area but there were seats in the shoe section so I flopped down there with a couple of husbands who were enjoying the free wi fi. I think they must provide that for husbands so that spouses can spend more time in the fittings rooms!
I was good girl and didn’t buy anything apart from some underwear which I did need, and a bracelet for Cat.

When we got off the bus by the flat Cat pointed out a man who she keeps seeing everywhere. She said he looks like an older version of David. Later that night I was inspired to write a short story about him along the theme of The Time Traveller’s Wife where he was David come back from the future. That’s David’s favourite book so it’s very appropriate. David is really into time travel so he lives in the right city as Cardiff is the home of The Dr Who Experience and is also where Torchwood was set.

Today it’s raining. I tell myself that’s really good for Cat’s garden but I don’t like rainy cloudy days. I have to go out later to get the post and a few things from the Coop. I have put it off until now in the hope that it will stop but it seems to be raining even harder so I had better prepare to go out and face the elements.
