*It’s Just Porn Mum - Trucks
Friday after dinner situation is the same over again
Mum, she wants to watch the news
but I just wanna watch the film at ten
so I get my way again
halfway to the movie
naked bodys getting groovey on the screen
mum, she changes channels
turns away
she can’t believe what I’ve just seen
embarrassed she starts to cream
it’s just porn, mum
you’re running away
you wouldn’t believe what the kids see today
it’s just porn, mum
and it won’t go away
wherever you turn you find porn every day
it’s just-
(billboards) on the way to school use porn to make their shit look really cool, so cool
girls I see on mtv conseal the fact that bands all look like fools
but the radios make me drool
it’s just porn, mum
you’re running away
you wouldn’t believe what the kids see today
it’s just porn, mum
and it won’t go away
wherever you turn you find porn every day
it’s just porn, mum
just porn, mum
it’s just-
Mum, I know that you’re embarrassed
but just face it, it can even being on
don’t think that I am so naive
that I don’t have a clue where I came from
it’s just porn, mum
you’re running away
you wouldn’t believe what the kids see today
it’s just porn, mum
and it won’t go away
wherever you turn you find porn every day
it’s just porn, mum
you’re running away
you wouldn’t believe what the kids see today
it’s just porn, mum
and it won’t go away
wherever you turn you find porn every day
It’s just porn mum… *
The last two days have been alright.
Friday was good in the way that I finally got some guts and applied for my holidays, getting the application form, showing my manager and he did the rest, showing it to the store manager.
Last year I had to show the store manager so maybe it’s changed.
Damo informed me my holidays we cool and had been approved! All in like a few minutes! Woohoo!
So yeh I get holidays from March 7 until April 1 - 20 work days. Woohoo! No work! Dan gets back from his holidays on Monday.
So if I can last until March, I’m doing well lol. I got my registration bill in the mail yesterday. Friggin $528 for 12 months - god having a car is expensive! I need it though cos of where my parents live more than anything, and it’s great convienence.
It’s scary though cos at work on Friday I noticed that traffic was backed right up along Gympie Road past my work, which made us think there must’ve been an accident further up the road. A customer confirmed it for us that it was fatal, and John at work today told me - a 19 year old guy was killed doing a u-turn, cleaned up by an on-coming car. Shit, that’s scary stuff. All I could think was ‘wow, he was only 19’ and ‘Imagine how his parents felt getting the phone call’. It’s scary driving past the spot where it happened, because I have to to get home. Scary. And it’s gotten me thinking about death again and where we go afterwards, and if that 19-year old’s mind is in a different place now.
Ahhh, I hate things so close to where I am shaking me up like that. It’s unfortunate enough, but I keep thinking it coulda been anyone. Today was alright at work. Extraordinarily busy, as per usual on a Saturday. Joy has gone and changed my numbers because we are apparently getting touch-screens at work, and now I can’t seem to do anything - ie log into a computer, a gun or do dumps. Grr, all the things I need to do to do my job, I can’t. I complained to Joy though she she reckons she’s gunna try to get an old number back, as I need to be able to do everything. A lot of good it is when I can’t. I couldn’t even log into a computer to print out an ADHOC sign to inform customer’s ice was going to be late that day. Grrrr. I had to use Joy’s numbers. And they kept calling me to fucking checkout too - grrrr. Boy they are lucky I’m nice. But I think Ross saw how stressed I was come lunch-time and left me alone for the rest of the afternoon lol, cos Jeff came up and asked how I was, and I kinda grunted at him in response haha.
Woohoo it’s weekend! I’m going to do a whole lot of nothing. I just feel like doing nothing. Monday I will though as Nev will probably be home, so I’ll try to be out. He hasn’t said anything about the Michael Crawford concert to me yet, not that I’ve seen him. So I guess I’ll stay here tomorrow and do my shopping and if I get too bored, I’ll go do something. I have to post by Ebay thingy on Monday note to self My friend Kristy is back online I see, and she’s been updating her diary - woohoo, good to have you back beautiful. Oooo I’m loving the Australian Open results so far, especially in the women’s draw. It looks like it’s gunna be a good contest. One Aussie left in it after today in the final 16. Never woulda picked Stosur to be there, but good on her! woohoo! Federer is just too good - It actually feels like he’s a level above the rest, and therefore his matches are boring cos he wins all the time. Haha that’s gunna cause controversy among tennis fans, but I really like to see a challenge, not someone whip someone’s ass all the time (not in that way anyway :P Ooo kinky) haha.
Ran into Scott in the city today. I went in to meet up with Lindsay. As I was waiting for him, I sat down, and a short while later this derro, holding a bible, sat down next to me and read it for a bit, then exclaimed, ‘thank-you jesus!’ Immediately i thought ‘Oh for fuck’s sake’. There isn’t once I go into the city without running into some wanker. He had a bad lisp but seemed to have discovered Christ, and as happy as i was for him, he was damn annoying. He asked me if I believed in Jesus, and I replied ‘yes’, but then he went on about all this crap - I couldn’t understand most of what he was going on about. I managed to finally get up and walk away once he shut up a bit.
I then went to Adelaide street, where I heard a voice yell out ‘Matt!’ and it was Scotty. He was with his ‘date’, whose name was also Matt. Nice guy. We talked for a while then I went to Adelaide street and sat on a seat outside the bus stops while I waited for Lindsay. All of a sudden, the two police cars started their lights up and sirens for a while, and this group of..some sort of religion..started a march up the streets of Brissy, being escorted by the police cars. Lindsay then arrived in time to see the parade start, and we were both confused as to what it was. There were hundreds of them, all wearing their cloaks and carrying signs and candles and the smell of incense was unreal at times, as the wind caught it and brought it to our sinuses.
Lindsay and I spent the next hour or so walking around daring to do Satanic things amongst their marching crowd, like putting on some red horns or speaking like Hitler really loudly. God it was hilarious. I still have no idea what religion they were, cos they certainly weren’t Christian, although I did hear them reciting the Lord’s Prayer at one stage, so Lindsay thought they may have been Catholic, judging by the time of night it was. Probably about 8pm. Some of their ritual things were a bit weird to be Catholic though, but I dunno, I dunno the Catholic faith that well as I was raised by my parents as a Lutheran, but just consider myself a Christian now. Lindsay on the other hand is a down-right Athiest haha.
Anyway weekend here I come. I’m going to get some sleep.

mm, I’ve never really completely understood the conflict some people have with their religion vs their sexuality, but I can see topically how it can be a problem, though. it’s cool that you’re okay with your beliefs now – and that shows a level of maturity that i admire a lot.
and mm, nice weekend! you always have such activity. i am so going to brisbane next year, =P

Matt life is just a vapor that appears for little season then vanishes away. But like you I think about death too and sometimes it is scary. Yeah I’m sticking OD. Hell, I can’t run off and leave good friends like you. We’re only an ocean away. LOL
Much love,

Be careful. We Catholics are a scary bunch. How so? Um… We eat children? And by we, I mean the 80% of my school that I’m not included in. And, HOW did you get 20 days off work approved? I’ve never heard of anything like it before! –Matt
