–EDITThanks to a fav, he has educated me on the difference between skeet and trap shooting. So to avoid confusion for others, replace the word “skeet” with “trap” in this entry. Thanks and thanks Michael.
The word used to trigger a clay “bird” to be projected out of a little building to be exploded into pieces or not. Skeet shooting. Had my very first time at skeet shooting at a Team Building event. I LOVED it. I wasn’t all that good at it as I only hit 10 out of 25 of the little clay things, and got so hot that I’m still hot today but it was a hoot!! Not sure that I will ever do it again but now I can say that I’ve done something I’ve always wanted to try and liked it. I’m a little sore in both shoulders but not as bad as I expected. Of course Aleve was taken first thing this morning to relieve some of the soreness.
I forgot to write that last Wednesday (8th of July) I took Dude to his appointment with the Orthopedic surgeon. He will have surgery to remove a disk on 31 July. Prayers would be appreciated.
Things at work are so convuluted. Nuff said.
Will lose another employee at the end of the month. He has a new position in the state of CA.
Cuts coming for the military and cuts will follow for the civilian work force. Expected.
Harvested potatoes from the sprouting potatoes I planted in the spring. I will harvest the tub next month or just let them stay until Sep or Oct. Have been getting a few tomatoes and cucumbers. Expect I’ll have a lot of cherry and pear tomatoes in the next few days. Lots of green ones. Only picked a cup of tame blackberries. May get another cup or so. Not a good year for tame. Maybe too much rain? Not planning to pick wild blackberries this time. No time, too hot, and too many weeds around the briars plus I still have a gallon frozen wild blackberries in my freezer.
Anticipating retirement every single day. I hope it as grand as I think it will be. Haven’t told boss yet. Not sure when I will, but will probably wait until I do the retirement application. I think I will do the app in Oct.
My AC went out on Sunday evening. Hot and humid seeps into a berm home too. Thankfully it was fixed mid-morning on Monday. Whew!! Thank God!!
That’s all I got for now. Take care and God Bless–Oh did plant zinnia seeds this AM in the big flower pot that the potatoes had produced. Hope they hurry. lol
