does anyone else get the sinking feeling
we’re just wrapping up the loose plotlines
before Western Civilization’s big finish?
all the advancements I’ve seen in my life
seem like they could blow away at any moment
as it gets more and more illegal to be not rich
I mean there’s a condition called precognitive dissonance
knowing the future but ignoring the knowledge to stay sane
we all have at least a little of it that is to say
if you want to succeed so your voice can be heard
but the path to success takes your voice away
then your success is meaningless, I mean
does anyone else get the sinking feeling

gay people can get married!
a trans celebrity is being openly mocked by assholes.
we have a mixed race president!
the cops are shooting young black men in the street and getting away scot-free.
we’re burning the Confederate flag openly!
a white lady pretending to be a black lady lead a major city’s NAACP.
does anyone else get the sinking feeling
