Wishing all the Dad’s out there a wonderful Day! This one is for you so enjoy! Hate to admit this, but I only know the dessert we’re having today. lol I’ll figure it out however, I’m leaning hard to taking Dad out for lunch/supper today. I’ve spent most of the weekend working on and finally completing the sewing/craft room. Good golly what a job!! But it is done for the most part. There are a few details I’ll finish up when time allows but that is mostly the closet space that is jam packed and I mean jammed!! I think I’ve kept every pair of denim jeans that someone can’t wear for the last 10 years. No, really, wayyy too much denim and it takes up a lot of space. Sooooo I WILL reduce the denim jean stash in time. I have to or there won’t be any way of even getting to it to use. lol
My aunt has been moved to a nursing home close to my cousin’s house and it is just wait. I feel so bad for her daughters, my dad and the other siblings.
Let’s see what else has been happening down here? Well, like a lot of others, rain. Lots of rain. Rained almost every day last week and sure enough by Friday the roads flooded. The local news had roads on both sides and mine closed so I called into work. Later in the morning I saw the county truck go toward the creek so I was watching for them to come back and sure enough I heard them coming back and they stopped when they saw me. I asked them if one of the roads the radio said was closed and my reason to call into work was really closed because of wash outs. No, they said it was still passable, just carefully. Oops. I wasn’t going to change clothes and go in so I stayed home and continued on the sewing room project. Grant it it would have been less physical work to actually GO to work but once my mind set is focused, I am going forth.
With all this rain, my yards are screaming to be mowed, however my mower isn’t built for muddin, so will wait a bit longer. Maybe this evening? The sun did come out yesterday and the bugs were hatching a new batch. One bug zapper has been activated and new bulbs have been ordered and should be here Wednesday or Thursday. Then two zappers will be going to try and keep the biting bugs under control. So much rain and humidity and heat makes that a major undertaking even for electric zappers.
Ok, I’ve got a couple of pictures of mid-project and some pics of the completed or ‘I’m done” results. Quite a mess before and during but it did finish way better.
The picture below is not long after I got the new bigger peg board attached.
Such a mess and only part of it was because of the “renovation”. Blah! The sewing machine that has stuff piled on it, including a Dora Doll is now in my bedroom.
New pegboard doing its job, and all important ironing board and iron for a sewer. New to me clamp light. Found 3 clamp lights at Goodwill for $3 a piece. Needed more light with the rearrangement of work stations. The rack of fabric on the left is flannel fabric.
Replaced the shelf to a longer one to hold more stuff, which was much easier to put up than the pegboard. . lol
The serger’s new home in front of te window. Clamp light on new 3ft shelf above the shelving unit and the peg board that I replaced on the other wall is now at home on the right of the serger table. Don’t think you can see it but on the left toward the bottom of that pegboard is a mason jar light I made. Pretty cool I suppose. I also added a switch to the cord of the clamp light on right so I can turn it off and on while sitting. Vacuum cleaner still in here to remind me to use it again.
And lastly the sewing machine area with organization attempt. The clamp light here was already here.
And that is all of my indulgence in this room. It is too bad seafarer got the horrid mess and this project couldn’t have been done BEFORE her visit. But I’m glad it is now a bit more the way I’ve wanted it to be arranged. I’m sure I can destroy the hard work in no time, but will remember the sore sore muscles and pain after each day of working on this room!
Take care and God Bless
