Friday in New Diary

Well this is Friday. I was up at 4 this morning. Laid back down but couldn’t sleep. I am still trying to read America’s Unwritten Constitution by Akil Reed Amar. Right now I am stuck on chapter 8. It is way over my head. The author is talking about the executive branch of government particularly George Washington. He mentions that the president has the right to appoint and the Senate to vote for various cabining members . Cabinet members serve under the pleasure of the President. They can be dismissed for any reason. But suppose there is a department with more than one head. The president does not have the right to dismiss subordinate members. I think he was talking about the Federal Reserve in this instance

I got my new phone yesterday. It is for hearing impaired people. It is very loud Also I can read what people are saying over the phone. It is pretty cool. The thing cost over $200 but I didn’t have to pay for any of it. My case manager at Healthways was able to get it for me at no cost. cost.

I was calling her yesterday to thank her for her efforts on my behalf. She was telling that in addition to a phone I will be able to get a hearing aid. I should be getting one in two months. She said Healthways is footing the bill. I am really excited about the hearing aid. Perhaps if I can hear what people are actually saying and speaking I could join in the conversation. I would be more sociable and would be able to make some friends in the building.

I did go down at the food distribution in the community room. I was sitting with my fiancé. There were these two women sitting in the table next to us. One of them looked at me and I thought she gave me the coldest look. This woman doesn’t even know me but already she is giving me dirty looks. I did feel very uncomfortable being around other tenants. Fiancé wasn’t feeling all that great neither. We got up and went outside. Oh well at least we got our food and that was the important thing .

Also, I mentioned that my fiancé is sick. She has as a virus. Because she sill be sick with this virus for six weeks she will not be able to ride on the van . We need some form transportation. I went over my budget for the million and one times and I decided t hat I could afford two bus passes. That would be $80. Plus I am giving her $50. I wont have a lot of money left over for myself

Anyways Here is the budget I get $753 month. Comcast will cost me $120 and rent $241.75 This leaves me with $391.25 Out of this comes $80 for bus passes, $50 for meds and $20 for laundry. That leaves me with $241.25. I will pay $3.18 to reload money on my laundry card That will leave me with $238.07. Out of this I have to pay $128.25 for computer, $37 for cigars, $34 for Dollar General, $10 for meds and $3 for debit card finance charges. I should have $25 left which leaves me just enough money to buy a book next month.

I am not worried about July. We have been in worse spots before. At least we will have food to eat thanks to my EBT card. I should have $149 on my card for next month plus there is the bread basket sign up. We will get by and in August it will be back to normal.
