Yes, my friend will be here today around 1pm I am guesstimating. I am so excited and the time is dragging. I do ask for prayers for her during her trip here and then back. She has never flown by herself and she is nervous. Please keep her in your prayers and send calmness for her.

Updating on other stuff. Took Dad to VA on Tuesday for his appointment with his primary care physician. Blood was drawn and then weight and BP check. Dad mentioned to the nurse that he gets dizzy more these days so she took his BP with him sitting which was normal and then had him stand for 1 minute and took it again. His BP dropped which explains the dizziness when he gets up. I had sent a note/letter thru the secure messaging to update them on the last few weeks on Sunday evening. I didn’t expect to be the one taking him so wanted to let them know about the ER visit on Saturday and since brother had missed the whole process since he was working he couldn’t really tell the “story”. I, on the other hand only knew what brother had told me about the Friday evening of Memorial weekend when dad was confused, had fallen outside by the tractor and then brother stayed with him and then I stayed with him on Saturday, sister stayed Saturday night and then me again Sunday day.

Long story (I know it’s too late for that) short is that the doctor read but not aloud what I’d written and also my suspicions about too many pain meds at the same time that caused the Fri night ordeal. Doc asked him some to the point questions about Power of attorney, and nursing home plans. Dad was a bit stunned I think, but took the questions in stride. Doc told dad that he has been VERY lucky that he hasn’t broken any bones in the falls he’s had and it will just take one fall, one break, and he’ll need to go to the nursing home. He also told dad that when people his age (86) break a bone and have to go the nursing home, they rarely leave. That dad must take his meds as directed cause if he doesn’t it will be a bad ordeal.

I wondered how dad was going to take this “no holds barred” talk from his doctor and apparently he took it seriously. Thank God!! He did talk to my brother about doing the application for the VA nursing home, but we’ll see if that actually takes place.

Other news that is great: My DIL has been offered and accepted a GM’s position for DG. How cool is that? REALLY great for them since son is probably going to have to have surgery on his shoulder/neck. Two bulging disks are the culprits of his pain in his right arm and shoulder. He will be scheduled to see a spine doctor in queen city. Please keep him and DIL in your prayers as their roads are stressful but I’m sure that they will smooth out in the future.

Need to do some things before my wonderful friend arrives later so will end this now. Take care and God Bless
