even if the transplant worked and
the whole thing went through
would you be the head or the body
which would be you
if the genders didn’t match
would the doctors even bother
if a man’s head gave birth
would he be the mother or the father
or if the genders did match
if they had the means
what’s it like to knock someone up
with someone else’s genes?
or just a crippled body
with a working head
on a biological life-support machine
addicted to anti-rejection drugs
welded by flesh seams
who are you now?
and if you sleep,
whose dreams?
