Life, oh life in Adventures in paradise

I’m surprised. My housemate (Nick) isn’t having a wild party again tonight like he was last Saturday night. I was coming home from that 90’s party and I could hear the party at my house from the main street a few hundred meters away haha. It was only when I got closer that I heard how loud he and his friends were being whilst they were chanting ‘Take it off! Take it off!’. One can only imagine what was happening there. Luckily I managed to get a few hours sleep in because I’ve been blessed with the ability to sleep through an atomic bomb when I’m tired. How I awake to my alarm going off at 4am, I do not know.
So yeah, it’s nice for it to be a quiet Saturday night here this time around. I heard Nick talking to a friend outside my bedroom window last night (my window is slightly ajar as it’s the only access point to get fresh air into my room unfortunately) and it faces out onto the front street and verandah. I only overheard him saying that he never really sees any of us and that he’ll see whoever his friend was tomorrow. So, I assumed that maybe he’d be having another party here tonight? Ah well, I should get a good sleep and I don’t start until a little later tomorrow so that’s good.
It’s been a good week and work has just flown by the last few weeks. Unfortunately with work going fast, it means my days off seem to also. Why can’t I slow time down on the days I’m free? :D
I’ve managed to avoid Vish and his boyfriend later in the week, as they are my work shifts and I need to be asleep early. He tried to get me to go out to dinner with them tonight but nah, don’t want to. Any other day is fine but I can’t have them hanging around here until 11pm or so when I need to be up at 4am. That makes for a grumpy and moody Matt :P
Vish did point out that my rainbow candle (that is sitting on the loungeroom table a a display) has been damaged. I didn’t even notice it! The top colour (purple) has been cut through, almost off, but just hanging on by a piece of wax in the middle. The sides of it on two sides have also been smashed in.
I was so annoyed. Obviously that must have happened during that party last weekend. I heard them paying out the gay choose-your-own-adventure book that is also out there (I heard them reading it whilst I was in my room, as noise echos easily from the loungeroom), but they didn’t have to destroy my fucking candle!
I should just get over it. It’s only a candle, I mean, really. It’s more the principle, you know? Why damage other people’s stuff? And I got it from the Nimbin candle factory, which I can’t exactly just duck down and grab a replacement, at least not for a while anyway.
Vish has asked me a few times if Nick has apologized to be for it, but I haven’t heard anything from him other than a ‘hi’ when he gets home from work. That’s about the extent of our conversations these days. That’s fine. At least my housemates aren’t another Ayden. James says that maybe Nick doesn’t even know about the candle. Maybe. I doubt it though.
Speaking of, Ayden sent me screenshots of a fake profile that Andrew has set up of him, listing his full name, company he works for and a list of other things, even going as far as to say in the ‘About Me’ section that he steals and destroys housemates possessions (as he stole a heap of Andrews).
Cue me stunned. My 50yo+ landlord has resorted to childish framing tactics to get back at the housemate he fell in love with. Ayden says he had to explain to his boss the situation etc etc.
I just didn’t respond after the second text with the screenshots. I feel I do well to stay out of the drama those two caused (and still cause a year later) in and out of this house. knowing Ayden, he’ll be planning revenge in the best way he knows how.
I think that’s all that’s been happening. I did start to copy over some of my hand-written diary entries earlier in the week to here on Prosebox. I stupidly realized that I only had to make the books private whilst I write them so that they don’t clog up your bookmark feeds LOL. I’ve still a long way to go on the post-2004 entries, but I’m currently copying over the 1996 and 1998/1999 entries. Gosh, to think I was only 12 nearly 13yo in 1996. It’ reflected in my writing also. I was such a shit writer. Every few days was a one short sentence entry like, ‘Washed Snoopy (our dog) today.’ And that would be the extent of an entire week of diary written in my ‘Paul Jennings Superdiary’ LOL. Thrilling life I led back then!
Life really was a lot simpler when the most exciting part of my week was washing the damn dog :P
Luckily, I improved my writing in 1998 and started to hand-write proper entries with a few sentences in them, so it’s pretty cool they have stood the test of time. They are just bits of paper shoved into the 1996 diary that I must have ripped out of a notepad or something. It’s kinda cool reading back over those of my 15-yo self.
Granted, it was nothing like I write now. I know at age 15 was when I started to really realize I wasn’t like the other boys. It was when I developed my mega-crush on Jason and was secretly obsessed with everything about him. Even today, because of those feelings I had at 15, I still find myself fascinated by him and am always stalking his social media profiles (not that he posts much).
I confused things by getting myself a girlfriend in that year also LOL. I should have known something wasn’t right when I spent more time thinking about making out with her brother than I did with her :P Man, I wish I’d written THAT in those entries, but I knew what my mother was like with being able to find anything in my room, so I left the entries to pretty much everyday stuff and school.
I definitely remember that though.
The ironic thing is that her brother happens to be also gay today (16 years later), and making a life for himself over in London.
Oh life.
