Transgender (tongue in cheek) in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

The “loose” explanation I found for transgender says in part: “Transgender is an umbrella term for persons whose gender identity, gender expression or behavior does not conform to that typically associated with the sex to which they were assigned at birth.” Well isn’t that special? I can fit that to a T if I want. I don’t want, but think it a bit ironic in that I work like a man at times per what is expected by early society. When I got home yesterday afternoon I began weed eating. I weed eated EVERY place that requires weed eating in my mind. Three hours. Out of the 3 hours, I took approx 4 breaks to get some water and rest and then used the leaf blower to rid the concrete of the grass clippings. I carried the electric weed and grass cutter all over the yard and across the road. I thought I was going to run out of usable muscles and rain free skies before I got done, but thankfully I did get done. I didn’t just “quit” I actually got done. As I was taking my shower I got to thinking about how many women I know who would never even think about using any weed eater, a chainsaw, even if it is electric. I had to smile to myself as I realized that men who want to act, dress, and feel like woman have been in the news and it is a big news story. I work myself silly doing just the opposite, and I just have sore muscles and exhaustion and go to bed by 8:45. roflo I just crack me up sometimes.

I certainly do not to offend anyone with the above paragraph but really, at times, a LOT of us (men and women) could fit the description above.

Moving on. Dad has good days and not so good days, but so far the good are in the lead. His niece brought his sister (my aunt that he worried about just a few months ago) to visit yesterday and he enjoyed the visit but they stayed a long time and the time for fights was getting close on TV so I believe he chose watching the fights over taking or going with them to get supper. He amazes me sometimes. He picks TV over his sister who he hasn’t seen in several months. Whatever. He is 86 and his sister is 92. They did get to see each other for a few hours so that is good and his spirits sounded better when I was talking to him.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. LESS than a WEEK and my friend will be here. I can hardly wait and am praying that everyone stays healthy mentally and physically so we can spend time together. She is such a wonderful friend. She told me that if I had to day sit with dad she’d be happy to sit with me. Now how’s that for true friendship? I am so lucky and blessed to only have “met” her on OD but to be blessed with her taking her time and her funds to visit me. TWICE this will make. I could just cry with happiness and joy.

J’s exit interview in reference to his SS will be today. Every quarter for the last 2 or 3 years someone paid by SS goes to recipients homes and asks hundreds of questions. Not sure what SS does with the information but this is the last one. HURRAY!! Guess I may finally get the 6ft ladder out of my kitchen and put away. heh Got it out days ago to change a couple of bulbs and never got it put back away. Today will be the day. Today was also the day I was going to mow. It has rained and stormed all night long and still this morning it is raining. Flooding is happening in that creeks are over their banks and that will cause the river to do the same. Mowing will probably not happen today but hopefully tomorrow afternoon I’ll get the chance. Since I have all the trimming done it shouldn’t take me long to mow so as soon as it is dry enough I’ll get it done. The yard will long so much better with a cut.

I shall end this now and do something inside the house. Maybe I’ll actually get some house cleaning done today. lol Maybe it will happen. Not deep cleaning, but some cleaning.

Take care and God Bless and prayers for TX

i'll use a weed eater, a riding mower, a regular mower anything but a chainsaw. chainsaws scare the daylights out of me. exit interview? what does that mean? i think today i'll be helping kurt move tree limbs and branches out of the yard so i can mow. will try to mow after we get the yard cleared. if i don't mow today i'll have to wait to mow til tuesday or wednesday. by then, the rain will have stopped and maybe the grass will be dry. i did a lot of cleaning yesterday morning here at home. then, i went outside and worked in the garden. i believe i have everything planted now. if i plant anything else it will be in buckets. no more seeds in the ground. i still have my bedroom, the laundry and the bathroom to clean. gonna get started on the rest of the cleaning this morning. i watered really good last night so, i can put it off til later. take care,

My grandmother used to help my grandfather milk the cows twice a day, seven days a week because there wasn't anyone else to do it. When they completed milking the cows, she'd clean up, change clothes, & spend the rest of the day doing the other work traditionally done by women. Nobody thought anything about it because it was necessary for them to make a living.

It's amazing how we have to properly label & name everything these days. Governor Jerry Brown has supposedly prohibited the use of the words "husband" and "wife" in all laws & government regulations in California. The politically correct, and now legal, term is "spouse".

No wonder he's humorously called "Governor Moonbeam".

Several years ago we needed a new Weed Eater. I went out and bought one and when I got it home I saw a Woman on the box. I hid the Box. Had my husband seen that he would think that Weed Eating should be MY Job completely. I wouldn't mind doing it on occasions, but not always. Much of the Yard Work I leave for my husband, but I enjoy doing it too along side him. I love to pull weeds though.

Oh I have no problem using a weed-wacker at all. I'm the one who mows the yard. I love to mow so it's not a problem.

I have a childhood friend who is transgender, went thru the surgery and became a woman. I wasn't offended by what you said and I don't think she would be, either. I have sometimes thought the same thing about the term "bi-polar" as we all tend to be that way from time to time, don't we? I hope you have a wonderful time with your friend!!!

I think a lot of us have lived that transgender role. But we still knew which bathroom to go to. David has taken over most of the male roles, but I am glad he likes to cook too.
