Semi short entry in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

Decided to clean out the gutter on the front of the house. Big storm late yesterday was horrible and the entire length of the guttering was overflowing. Got it done although it took some time. Then decided to work on the side downspout for the garage guttering since it is stopped up somewhere. The drain pipe for it is mostly underground, so didn’t get it unclogged. Need to come up with something shortly though. *sigh

J came out while I was working on the side gutter spout and I asked him if he was ready for breakfast. Yes he was. I decided to call my dad to see if he wanted me to come up and get him for breakfast. He did. I fixed bacon, eggs, and biscuits. He had to wait until I cooked it all but he was here about 2hrs. I took him home when he asked and also took the papers that I used to pre-prepare his taxes back to his house. He took a pain pill and said he was going to rest for awhile. I estimate the rest will be 2 to 4 hrs. Fixed him a large glass of ice water so he can drink it throughout the day. I really think he needs to drink more water. Also told him NOT to take 2 different types of pain pills at the same time. So far he’s doing as I requested.

Will get him as early of appointment as possible tomorrow. Not sure when it will actually be, but he seems to be doing a little better. Still weak and feeble but knows reality from not.

DIL came yesterday while I was at Dad’s and we switched vehicles. They and her mom were going to 6 flags today and needed the 3d row seating in the Tahoe. I’ve been praying for the Tahoe and them too. heh

I plan to go to work tomorrow. Work may be a bit of relief if I was honest. Hate to admit that and it isn’t going to change my mind about retiring but this weekend has for sure made me think about what I was doing. lol

Happy Memorial Day and God Bless all those who have served, are serving and will serve this great country!!

You didn't. It seems to be a lost ability for a lot of us. I keep thinking I will but then think of things that need to be done. I guess in a sad sort of way, it is for myself. Just isn't normal I hear. Believe we may a lot alike in that trait. :)

I wonder if a rotorutter type thing would clean the underground spout. Like the snake things to clean out a sink drain?

Went to Walmart and got a 25ft one. Did it at both ends and found nothing. But plan A had been to get another down spout for the thing so ended up using it. Course had to buy adaptor too. Geeze. But it will drain into the yard now and not splash out of the down spout.

Glad your dad is doing better. Dehydration could be part of his problem, too. Hope you can get him in to the doctor today.

Me time is an essential that you need to find somehow. Even if it's just half an hour in the tub with a book and a nice cup of coffee or whatever you choose to sip.

Gutters are good - except when they're clogged up. I even have the metal gutter covers that seem to keep the big stuff out.

However, the muddy stuff still remains. And I have a couple that need my attention right now.
