I chatted with Comcast last night. I wanted to find out what my bill will be for next month. I was shocked to find out that it was going up to $185.00. Fortunately, I was able to downgrade to a a Triple Play Economy plan. This is going to cost me about $115.00 per month. I only have forty five channels I can get the local channels and CNN This is all I am going to need. Downgrading will leave me with $73 for the month.
I had to do it. I found out that my computer payment would be much higher than anticipated. I thought it was going to be around $109.00 a month. I called them last night and they said it will be $128.25 a month. This was almost $20 more than expected. I knew my cable bill was going up but I had no idea by $40 It was a good thing that I contacted Comcast
I was thinking to myself that I must be crazy. I am going through all this trouble just so I can buy a NOOK with Glow light. Come hell or high water I am determined to get this thing. I have to have access to my books. I have a lot of money invested in those books. I am obsessed with them. Reading is a big part of my life. I don’t drive and can’t walk like I used to so I can’t get to the library. I keep thinking this is my only option I have to avail myself of the only therapy that really works for me, reading.
I keep thinking of all the things that could go wrong. What if I get the NOOK and can ‘t set it u? Do you need a computer to set it up and register your NOOK. If so then I think I am done because there are no way I can plug it into this new computer. What if I can’t use Wi Fi? I have Wi Fi but what if, for some reason it will not work. Besides that how does one go about registering and setting up a NOOK in the first place? Do you need a degree in computer science to use one? If so then I am done What if I get everything set up and then I can’t access my old Barnes and Nob le account? I invested all that money in a NOOK and will have to start over again. These are some stupid questions and concerns but I keep thinking about these things and thinking about these things .I am worrying and worrying about all this crap and it is not doing me a bit of good.
This NOOK I’m getting is a big investment. It is going to cost me around $123.00. I hate thinking I’m forking out all that money and the thing will not work. I hate thinking that I will not have access to my library. I have a lot of money invested in my books and I keep thinking it is all going to be lost
These are the questions and concerns floating around in my head. I think about them all the time. It is driving me crazy. I wish to hell I can just say FUCK it FUCK it .But I have these thoughts in my head and they are taking over everything. I am obsessed and I don’t like this one bit
On a another note fiancé got a new computer for herself a few days ago. She is getting set up for the Internet Comcast is coming between 10 and 12. I am happy for her . She knows less about computers than I do but I will be helping her get it set up
I can’t wait till I get my check. Will get my SSI check on the first .Got transportation lined up on that date. We are going to the bank. I am going to withdraw all of $94 of it and go to Wal Mart. I’m going to put it on my debit card. I will have $131 on it and when I get home first thing I will do is go to B&N and do the deed. It is going to be a very long week . can’t hardly wait.
9:40am. I have been on the phone all morning. First I called Charleston. I wanted to get my balance for my EBT card. I couldn’t get to a live voice. They kept telling me my balance was over a hundred. I only get $48 and I know my balance for this month is around $32.Then I called this one number in Charleston to report a change in income. I said my rent will be going up- thirty five dollars in June. I will be getting more food stamps in July but they are only going up by $12.00 I will not be getting an increase in June, bummer
Then I found a phone number for B&N. I called them and they put me on hold for a half an hour. I am having problems with the web page. I cannot access my library. I talked with a representative and she tried different solutions and none of them worked. I said I was going to buy a NOOK next month will I be having the same issue with the NOOKK? She said that once I get it registered and signed up I the books I already purchased will transfer to the NOOK. So that is good news.
I guess I will just have to wait and see. This is driving me crazy. Four more days till the first
1:59pm. Well Comcast came to my fiancé’s apartment. Things didn’t go well. First she didn’t get all the channels she was supposed to be getting. Then he didn’t hook up the computer right. You have to enter a password in order to get on the Internet. He didn’t show us where to enter the password. Then he hooked her up to Wi Fi and she doesn’t have Wi Fi. Bottom line was we couldn’t get on the Internet. Also, found out that she doesn’t have Internet Explorer. I couldn’t find it on the desktop
We called Comcast and explained the situation. At first he asked if there was an Ethernet cord from the computer to the modem. I said no. He said we could go to Wintersville and get one. Then I said we don’t drive or have a car. He said he could sent one at no charge. It would take three to five business days. This was when I lost my temper. I said we shouldn’t have to go through this. Fiancé is paying for this guy to come out. He should set it up and do it right . We tried to trouble shoot the problem but could not get it fixed. Finally Comcast agreed to send another guy out tomorrow between 12:30 and 2.
Then I called Rent A Center. I explained that she didn’t have Internet Explorer on the computer. They told me all their computers come with IE. I said I didn’t see it on the desktop. She asked if they could send somebody out to look at it and they I said yes. They are coming today between 3 and 5.
This was a bad day all around. I woke up feeling very stressed out. I was worried about the budget for next month. Then fiancé had a problem with Comcast. Things didn’t go according to plan.
