A little update and a little more news in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

The mental health day yesterday helped. I feel much better today. Another “help” was that I talked to the pharmacy expert and she had a check written to me for just a little less than half of what I’ve paid out of pocket. Soooo, that means that Medicare has now put J on a drug plan. YeeHaa!! Apparently when I did the application for Medicare for him that triggered Medicare to send him a “you are covered” for drug prescriptions letter. How insane!! Insanity or not, I’m thankful that this is working itself out. At this time, I will not pay the spend-down. Medicare has a less out of pocket deductible for office visits than the spend down amount so paying the spend down would be a waste of money. I’m not into wasting money so unless and until Jacob has medical issues that land him in the hospital I will not be sending a check every month.

Thank you for all of your encouragement in all this. I just can not believe how confused and overwhelmed I became. You’d think that working for the government would somehow “immune” to confusing written items. Not so I’ve learned. Oh wow!! During my time at home yesterday I spent a good while with a large accordian type file and labeled all the sections for the paperwork. Believe it or not, I really needed one more slot, but used the slot for extra labels for those items. All of these items/correspondece/applications/ etc have been created and mail to be in the last two months. I am wondering if I need to look into a 4 drawer file cabinet instead of a whimpy accordian file. I hope not, but right now, I suspect I will either need more accordian files or an actual filing cabinet to keep all the papers where I can find them. Sheesh!!

Dude. Update on Dude. He has a tore tendon in his right shoulder and will be seeing a specialist on Friday. Until then, we know nothing. Other than he’s getting a bit of cabin fever and antsy since he isn’t one to not be doing something somewhere.

Ruby (my sister) started a new job Monday. She went from working at a hospital to a car dealership. Not sure what she is doing but I did glance her when I took the Tahoe over on Monday AM to have them give me a price on what they would give me. That was also depressing. I ended up bringing it home, taking some pictures of it and posting it on a local classified site. Nothing yet, so I’m sure I will reduce the price either today or tomorrow. *sigh

Boss called me yesterday while I was home. I didn’t answer and then shut off my phone. Later not long after noon, I turned it back on and sure enough he’d left a v msg. He wanted me to call him ASAP. Well I waited about 30 minutes and called him back. He wanted to know if I would be at work today as he needs my accomplishments so that he can put on his rating that his boss is doing for him. You have no idea how much that irratates me. Happens every year and every year it makes me cringe that he takes credit for only what his Division chiefs accomplish as he pretty much accomplishes nothing!!

So, now, he’s on leave until the end of the month. I sent him my stuff first thing this morning, but not sure he was even at work. I think his vacation was suppose to start today. Dang, I hope I didn’t mess up his first day off..... :~( Geeze. That is what he does to me on my days off.

Can’t think of anything else to update so will end this other than it was in the 40s this morning and not getting out of the 50s today. Brrrrr!!! Take care and God Bless
