Broadway Theater in keeping it postive

There was something about the 50s musicals - Gigi, My Fair Lady - where the woman had to be reshaped to fit the image the man had of perfection. The story was interesting (yes, I remembered parts of the movie), the set was beautiful except for the fact the characters seemed to be below the Eiffel Tower, yet there was an Eiffel Tower in the distance. So glad that the old man character was NOT the one singing “thank heaven for little girls” - that song was sung by the grandmother and great aunt.
