Oh boy. Even sleep isn’t peaceful. I fall asleep… two hours later… punch. “What?” Angry wife face with scowl. “You were snoring again.”
Sleep… a few hours later… PUNCH. “Dammit, what?!” Furious Wife Face… “You were snoring again.” So at 7 am, I just decide to come out to the living room and write a bit.
Yeah. I snore. I’m sorry. I can’t change an unconscious behavior that I don’t do actively. So what’s the deal? Well… her answer is that she can’t sleep when I snore. Meaning… she sleeps well and sleeps well until she wakes up and then she can’t get back to sleep until she wakes me up so I stop snoring so she can get back to sleep. So… talking about it… the solution? Status Quo. Do what we’ve been doing. Because she said that the Breathe Right Strips don’t work on me. And she says she absolutely will not wear ear plus to bed. So… since she doesn’t want to wear earplugs… even though I have Fibromyalgia which causes issues with sleep that increase pain… the “solution” is going to be that she punches me awake so she can get some sleep.
“This is your life. And it is ending one minute at a time.”
I go back to sleep. She goes to work. I meet my friend at Panera for lunch. That went well. It was good to spend time with someone again. Now I’m home and watching TV and cooking. I’m thirsty… I shouldn’t but… I’ll probably mix myself a drink here pretty soon. I should go workout instead but… yup… that’s me.
As I sit and think of things I’d like to do… there is definitely something I wish I had the talent, the time, and the resources to do.
I would LOVE to write novelizations of the fictional history of some of the great comic books. Like… for some comic books, these characters have been going strong for almost 80 years.
I’d love to get access to the entire line of certain comics from the publishers themselves, then have the talent to write novelized book series that would help (1) preserve the history; (2) make the characters more accessible for modern audiences; and (3) prove once and for all that Comic Books aren’t children’s wastes but legitimate forms of literature.
Consider it… a novelized series of a few books that would encapsulate The Avengers (their missions, the team changes, the dynamic shifts) starting with their team up in 1963. The Avengers would be more than what they are in the films, maybe more than what they are in the comics.
Or the X-Men. A novelized series of books that would cover the team since 1963… something that might honestly be able to comprehensively cover all of the time shifts and temporal distortions and team changes.
Or Spider-Man! “Brand New Day” is hard enough to wrap a mind around… but The Clone Saga? Over 50 years of Spider Man (including Peter Parker, Ben Riley, Miles Morales) in such a way as to convey the stories of the character and make Spider Man accessible to all who read.
Don’t even get me started on DC Comics! Superman has been going since 1938… Batman since 1939. Not to mention trying to cover the entire concept of Golden Age vs Silver Age vs Modern Age. I mean… I don’t know if it would be a financial success at all… but it would be a labor of love.
See this is the thing, dude. I have ideas. I don’t know how to get them from ideas to action. I don’t know how to amass the resources I would need to do the things I would love to do. Nor do I ever consider that I have the talent to do those things if the resources were available. Grumph.

On a weird note… seriously can’t wait until I get a job. Partly because… I want a job where we move to a smaller community than Omaha (434k) so I can finally get a recommendation on a quality physical doctor for me and proper insurance. ‘Cuz… yeah. I’ve got some physical issues that I need to get looked at… like Fibromyalgia and an ouchie bump forming on my lower back and my itchiness and other stuff… and that is the funny thing… I don’t complain about my physical crap. I don’t complain about my job crap. Not aloud, not in the real world. I don’t complain. Because complaining doesn’t solve anything. But… of course… I complain on here, lol.
