We are one week in with one more to go. Having a great time, weather has been beautiful. The cottage is very nice, great view from the porch. It is surprising how windy it is up on the porch but down on the beach hardly a breeze goes by. Sleeping is great as there is a nice breeze that comes thru the window. Once I get home, I will try and figure out posting pix from the camera to here. I have taken some pix with the iPad and have posted them on FB.
Inevitably there have been some changes, the price of progress I guess, but only at the cottages. In barbuda there are wild donkeys, horses that roam the countryside and you can hear the donkeys braying at all times—luckily it is not mating season or they would really be making a racket, anyway, when we were here last time, there would always be donkeys or horses in the yard at various times. Now, no horses and only a few donkeys. The bar next to the cottages had chickens and a rooster running around and that rooster would start crowing at 4 a.m. They are gone. Why? Because some of the guests complained about them. The cottages are fenced in, the chickens and roosters are gone to a fate who knows. The place is still beautiful but some of the charm has been lost. All for the price of progress.

I hate when people travel to foreign and/or exotic places to experience something different, then they complain when it's different. I'm glad you're having a nice time, though!

I hate to see those kind of changes. I'd rather wake up anyday to a rooster crowing than an alarm clock :(

That is sad that people can't enjoy someplace for what it is. If you want things like you want them then go somewhere that already has them like that. Don't change everything or every place will end up the same. .. then what's the point of traveling?
