yeah so they really should build an airport in the middle of the atlantic [well not in the actual ocean itself. on a dock thing]. that way overseas flights won’t be so long. er well they’ll be split up into 2 parts if you have an 8 hr. flight. maybe. like you’d travel 4 hrs. to the ocean airport and then 4 more to your destination. i’d much rather that than one 8 hr. flight to get to like. London or somewhere and than a 1 hr. one. which is what we had/did. usually my days go fast but not on long flights.
I apparently am unable to sleep on long flights. so I rested which I always think is better. yeah just when i’d gotten to that point [of sleeping] I woke up cause something felt weird. sleeping in new places always does for me but usually i’m stable. I have a slight fear of heights and it’s not falling from them exactly it’s that I don’t feel stable. like if i’m on a balcony. not if i’m on the 2nd floor in a bedroom. it’s if i’m outside. it’s that weird almost vertigo feeling.
so our first cab driver in Amsterdam was. well he was intimidating. and a bit too serious. there are different kinds I know. I was so tired that day. i’d not gotten much sleep um. the 13th to the following day [which was when we left] and then I didn’t sleep on the plane so it. well it wasn’t good [well no]. that night I think I went right to sleep. I use my phone as a clock and as you’re not supposed to have them on in planes that’s why I didn’t. my point here is they say you should stay up until midnight er. w/e midnight is in your final destination. that it helps w/ jet lag. and my phone has world time on it and since I didn’t have it on I didn’t ..........well I guess I could’ve looked at the tv thingy that tells you the time. well either way I often didn’t know what time it was when we were on the plane. i’m one who always wants to know what time it is. I think they say midnight as most consider it the next day. I don’t. the next day to me is 1 a.m. what really gets me is when people go ‘yeah I went to sleep at 2 last night’. er no. it’s 2 this morning. [well not right now right now it’s 10:40 p.m.].
btw airplane food is terrible. and English smoothies are weird. I was looking at the menu and I got all excited they were offering smoothies for breakfast. yeah but they had English smoothies. they’re weird cause they’re warm.
yeah so this was meant to go w/ my anne frank entry. when I put I ‘finished’ a book I mean I read till the last 100 pages. I like leaving things unfinished. if a book has 203 pages i’ll read to page 200. and if it has 267 i’ll again read to 200. I don’t like leaving things empty and I feel like if I actually read all the book then it would be empty and there wouldn’t be anymore to read once i’d finished it [er well obviously]. and I don’t like that.
so I also finished Jodi piccoult’s ‘between the lines’. it’s funny. it’s a fairy tale. I love those. and I brought ‘the bean trees’ which I was planning to read but my mom wanted to borrow it, so.
