Winter is back! in blackpropaganda

Last week I could have been in shorts - today I had to wear a sweater, anorak and wet weather trousers as the showers piled in at about C4 degrees. The phrase goes - “Ne’er cast a clout till May is out’ - not sure if that means the month of May - or the may blossom on the hawthorn which is coming out now. Easy point is that summer is not icumen in anytime soon - and keep those thermals handy.

Still, over 40 people turned up for a walk, some without the necessary protection (no mrs, none of that on the walk) - and so some wet trousers after a time - but when the shower went over the wind dried things up.

Saw the last episode of Poldark on BBC 1 last night - and have been impressed by the production - all hokum about Cornwall in the eighteenth century of course - with nice teeth and clean clothes (in the main) . At least more drive than Downton Castle - and some really sneaky villains.

Hey, would you believe there is (was) a health minister in Northern Ireland who is homophobic and anti-abortion to the point of making crass statements in public at an election meeting. Surely the area of health provision raises all kinds of problems for a man who believes that single sex relationships with children are more likely to lead to sexual abuse. He has resigned on the basis of public rejection of his crassness - and outlook - although I would bet there are a lot of his mates who share that view anyway.
