Thursday morning was cardio. The machine I used was the recumbent stationary bike. There is all kinds of information on the screen but the only one I paid attention to was the heart rate. I kept that between 139 and 145 for thirty minutes. And yep, I had sweat upon my brow afterwards. Good enough.
Friday I didn’t go over.
Yesterday I went over and did some strength. Farted around with different setups on the machine.
Today I took another day off from the fitness center. I’ll be going over there tomorrow.
It is almost too hot now to lay by the pool. And with the pool being so warm it doesn’t provide any cool off what so ever.
Jassy called and said she had her first rude customer at this job. Someone called her an “imbecile”. I know what my reaction would have been. Good thing I don’t work a service job.
I just looked at the ten day weather forecast for back home. Highs in the sixties for the whole ten days. That would be such good weather for van living. But I’m afraid I’m stuck here until at least May 15th. That is when my sis will be done with chemo and Mom and I can go see her, as per her request. Mom will be cleared this coming week to continue living on her own. She’s still trying to get me to stay here. And she’s got a point, what the hell else do I have to do? I’m unemployed and homeless.
Even after staying here for 84 days last winter Mom still doesn’t get it that what I do is sit and read. That’s it. That’s all I’ve ever done. Or ever wanted to do.
Oh yeah, that reminds me. All last Winter at the pool I had to listen to that awful repeating soundtrack coming from the outdoor speakers. Well, yesterday I tracked down the source and found it. And stifled it! Strangled it. There is a soundboard PA type thing in a closet in the Apache room. Plugged into that was an iPod. I just dropped the volume sliders on the board and didn’t touch anything else. I went to the pool today and . . . silence! I love silence.
