Save a grand in Stuff

Waiting outside work today for the doors to open (and my shift to start), I saw the crowd of people eagerly awaiting to get inside.
Geesh, we close for one day and this happens every time.
I thought about it though. People probably have routines. Those who normally would do their groceries on a Saturday now had it pushed back a day. Either way, today was fucking BUSY. I could barely manoeuvre my roolcage around customers without hitting them there were SO many at times.

My manager actually asked me if I could start early today, but when my alarm went off, I was like ‘Fuck that shit’ and hit snooze about ten times haha. I was up so late last night (probably due to the last entry) and yeah that wasn’t happening. I do them a favour by working Sundays anyway so I decided to just rock up at my usual starting time, and that I did! I did stay back another two and a half hours though. That was fine. It was so busy and the shift went so fast.

One of my attractive straight workmates was acting pretty gay today though. One of the girls was reading her phone in the staff-room and mentioned that Leonardo DeCaprio has signed up to Tinder. I joked with her, “Did you swipe left?” and Brandon (this guy) pipes in with, “Even I’d swipe right for that guy.”
It’s interesting though, cos I always thought Brandon was gay. Apparently I am wrong though because when I told my nightfill manager at the time that I thought he was, he burst out laughing at me. I guess my gaydar is off. But then later on he was joking with this chick about ‘taking it up the butt’ and it left me all kinds of confused haha. Oh well, he was having fun. I wish all attractive straight guys could be like that.
Some of the nightfill team were in early for finish off some load that had come in, due to the public holiday. One of them was ‘little John’ who is also a rather cute guy. He’s very funny and can talk the hind leg off a donkey. I found out his girlfriend dumped him two weeks ago. I know what he’s like from having used to work with him in nightfill. Brisbane girls better look out haha. Because he can talk and talk and never run out of things to talk about, I think it works in his favour.

I got home and was looking up flights to Darwin. It’s an Aussie city I’ve never been to and I’ve been wanting to for a while. So I checked all four airlines (we only really have four here in Australia) and couldn’t believe how expensive the two major ones were. I’m talking like $1200 one way LOL. AS IF. Fuck, it’s only my neighbouring state/territory really! Jetstar were asking around $250/$300ish each way and Tiger was the best option at around $120ish. So clearly, if I was to do that, I’d be flying the bogan airline all the way haha. I guess the major airlines just know to cash in on all the cashed-up miners asking those grand-plus prices. The only thing with Tiger is for whatever reason, their flights only arrive in Darwin at 1am. So strange. Do I want to check into a hotel at 1am? Guess I’d have to.
So I’m thinking I might plan that for in a few weeks time or so. I have no problem flying Tiger, especially if it’s gonna save me a grand!
Canberra is the other capital I’ve yet to visit. I hear a lot about that from Vish and James, since they live so closeby. They are back in Brisbane soon though, so I guess it’ll be nice to have some good friends living closeby again.
