Oh my gosh. I woke up after a long night of charlie horses or muscle spasms in the calves of my legs and feet and thought it was Monday. I was so convinced that I before I even put my glasses on or had any coffee I sent a text to J’s bus driver to tell her J wouldn’t be going to work “today” to go to his checkup from last week. She sent a text back and said, “you mean tomorrow?” Oh wow today is Sunday! I don’t ever remember doing that on the weekends. I’ve got to get a grip!!
After getting over the shock and embarrassing moment, I was so glad it was still the weekend. Still embarrassed, but glad it is Sunday. Wonder if getting my days mixed up will be happening more often when I retire. I suspect so and dad does it a lot. *sigh

I made some headbands and done laundry yesterday AM and the Vet arrived at 11. It took about 2 hrs to run all the cows, the calves, and the bull through for their annual protective meds. Not too much drama until near the end when one of the cows thought she could jump over the Vets catcher shoot. Thankfully he was able to get her to back up and get her upper body off the top of the shoot. We could imagine her ripping herself open if she insisted on trying to get over instead of getting off and backing up. Dude got here after the doc left as he couldn’t take off yesterday but we had enough help cause he had already told my brother that he couldn’t get off yesterday to help. Think this is the first cattle working he has ever missed. Bet he didn’t mind as he works the herd and kicks, step on, and head butts are common at that end.

Was so thrilled to see that the poison concoction to kill the poison OAK and not ivy worked. I was impressed how quickly it caused the green leaves to turn brown. I seriously doubt that it is dead forever since I found out it was poison oak, I figure the oak tree next to the shop is the feeder to the poison oak. Not sure about that, but it would make sense. Now that I know that the concoction works, I’ll be using it in several more places. I make it stronger than the recipe and I know that in most of the places I will use it that I won’t be able to ever plant anything there but that is the point. There are just some areas that I don’t want grass or weeds growing. Sometimes I feel a bit bi-polar as I spend time and money on killing weeds and grass and then spend time and money trying to get it to grow. Not the same areas of course, but odd still the same when you think about it.

There are showers this morning and I’m so glad Dude got my mower fixed yesterday afternoon. Runs like a dream now and after he mowed most of yard in front of the house, I mowed the rest and did a little more of the front along the fence. I still need to weed eat, but overall it looks better. Dude also helped my BIL get his mower fixed and BIL mowed the yard over at the trailer. Our yards look so good now!!

Going to go to church in a bit and before I go I will clean up the kitchen…finally. I have some short stacks of fabric in on or in kitchen chairs and table and I may just leave it to sew on later or put it away again to get back out later. lol There is more that I could write but will get on the kitchen duties that I need to get done. Not many dirty dishes but ads to throw away and a couple of items to put back in their places and to wipe down everything. Also need to sweep and maybe spot mop or just mop the whole thing. I seem to have the gift of dripping coffee. Geeze.

Take care and God Bless
